Retention strength of ball-attachment titanium post for removable partial denture or overdenture

Aim: To evaluate the retention of an endodontic titanium post with a spherical head for removable partial denture or overdenture attachment according to surface treatment type. Methods: Sixty healthy single-rooted teeth, sectioned at the enamel/cementum junction, were treated endodontically and steadily fixed in the embedding acrylic resin. Solid State NMR Spectroscopy Investigation of the Molecular Structure of Epoxy Based Materials Cured in Different Conditions

In this work two epoxy resin model systems, whose monomers are typically used in structural composites, were thermally cured in different cure conditions in order to obtain different cross-linking densities. Their molecular structures were investigated through solid state NMR spectroscopy in order to correlate them to the cure process conditions used and the results were discussed in the light of the dynamical mechanical thermal analysis (DMTA) performed.

Long-term sealing ability of GuttaFlow versus Ah Plus using different obturation techniques.

Objective. To compare the long-term sealing ability of GuttaFlow® using different obturation techniques. Study Design. Three hundred teeth, prepared with a crown-down technique, were divided into thirty experimental groups (n=10) to evaluate the apical and coronal leakage, at 3, 30 and 120 days, of lateral compaction gutta-percha + AH Plus?, lateral compaction gutta-percha + GuttaFlow®, single cone + AH Plus?, single cone + GuttaFlow®, and GuttaFlow® only. Scandium-44: Benefits of a Long-Lived PET Radionuclide Available from the 44Ti/44Sc Generator System

(44)Ti/(44)Sc radionuclide generators are of interest for molecular imaging. The 3.97 hours half-life of (44)Sc and its high positron branching of 94.27% may stimulate the application of (44)Sc-labeled PET radiopharmaceuticals. This review describes the current status of (44)Ti production, (44)Ti/(44)Sc radionuclide generator development, post-processing of generator eluates towards medical application, identification of ligands adequate to Sc(III) co-ordination chemistry, proof-of-principle labeling of (44)Sc-DOTA-octreotides, investigation of in vitro and in vivo parameters, and initial applications for molecular imaging - both in small animals and humans.

Seedless assembly of colloidal crystals by inverted micro-fluidic pumping

We propose a simple seedless approach to assemble millimeter sized monolayer single colloidal crystals with desired orientations at predetermined locations on an unstructured charged substrate. This approach utilizes the millimeter-ranged fluid flow on the bottom glass substrate induced by an ion exchange resin (IEX) fixed on top of the closed sample cell. This fluid flow increases with decreasing height of the sample cell and increasing radius R of the IEX. For a single inverted pump, millimeter sized monolayer single crystals of hexagonal close packing can be obtained.
