Collective Behavior of Price Changes of ERC-20 Tokens

We analyze a network constructed from tokens developed on Ethereum platform. We collect a large data set of ERC-20 token prices; the total market capitalization of the token set is 50.2 billion (109) US dollars. The token set includes 541 tokens; each one of them has a market capitalization of 1 million US dollars or more. We construct and analyze the networks based on cross-correlation of tokens’ returns. We find that the degree distributions of the resulting graphs do not follow the power law degree distribution. We cannot find any hierarchical structures nor groupings of ERC-20 tokens in our analysis. peerReviewed

Abstract This article presents an empirical analysis of determinants of the survival of firm or self-employed workers in the Spanish translation sector. In the midst of a global downturn, the survival of firm and self-employed workers is a key factor for the progress of the economy and for a better and more stable future. The analysis explores the combination of variables including human capital, contingency and economic investment that potentially drive translation and interpreting firms to survive. Do Financial Crises Moderate Entrepreneurial Recipes? A Comparative Fuzzy Analysis

ABSTRACTThis study performs a fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) on entrepreneurial recipes. The research focuses on the moderating role of the 2007 financial crisis on the antecedents of entrepreneurship. Standard regressions analysis proves insufficient to uncover asymmetrical and complex relationships that explain the effect of credit constraints on new business. Empirical results on longitudinal data suggest that the crisis moderated entrepreneurial recipes in Spain. This research contributes to QCA analysis by studying moderation effects on time-series data.

Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) country profile variables were analyzed using qualitative comparative analysis (QCA). This analysis identified which combinations of entrepreneurs’ competencies and motivations boost marketing innovation. Marketing innovation contributes to defining and reinforcing competitive advantages, goal setting, and business performance. The findings of this study can help policymakers design strategies to foster regional marketing innovation and economic growth.

The effect of choice complexity on perception of time spent choosing: When choice takes longer but feels shorter

2009

Two studies examine the effect of the complexity of the choice environment on the perceived duration of the time spent choosing. The experiments demonstrate that the estimation of the time spent making a decision is affected by the number of options available in the choice set. In Experiment 1, participants having to choose 1 of 24 mobile phones tended to underestimate the time spent whereas participants confronted with the choice of 6 mobile phones tended to overestimate the actual time spent. Experiment 2 corroborates this finding, in the presence of varying degrees of attribute correlation. The study examines the performance of these companies in terms of their involvement in innovation activities, participation in business networks, and open innovation as a strategy to cope with difficult market conditions resulting from the recent economic downturn. Abstract Typologies can be an adequate tool for analyzing the complex cause–effect relationships between innovation and the supply of university courses.
