Santiago Ramón y Cajal made his mark in the history of science as a brilliant researcher of the histology of the nervous system. His bold efforts and the international recognition he received during his lifetime played an important role in the consolidation of the Spanish Neurohistological School which is composed of a large number of eminent disciples. Interest is one of the most important components for a successful teaching/learning process; unfortunately, nowadays students’ interest in science and mathematics is decreasing. The aim of the research is to explore the cognitive interest of 15-year- old students in science and mathematics. Students in Latvia and Lithuania participated in the survey; the data show that students’ cognitive interest in this area in both countries is mediocre. The role of music in adolescents' mood regulation

The aim of this study was the exploration and theoretical clarification of the role of music in adolescents' mood regulation. The phenomenon was approached through an inductive theory construction. The data were gathered from eight adolescents by means of group interviews and follow-up forms, and were then analysed using constructive grounded theory methods. The analysis resulted in a theoretical model, which describes mood regulation by music as a process of satisfying personal mood-related goals through various musical activities. Resumen El presente estudio evalua la eficacia de una intervencion consistente en el uso de una aplicacion movil en formato juego dirigida a reducir el sexismo en adolescentes. Se lleva a cabo un estudio cuasiexperimental pretest-postest con grupos de intervencion y de control. Participan 369 estudiantes de Educacion Secundaria Obligatoria de entre 12 y 17 anos de la provincia de Valencia, de los cuales 196 se asignan a la condicion de intervencion con la aplicacion y 173 al grupo control. El presente estudio extiende la investigacion previa sobre inteligencia emocional percibida (IEP), al examinar las conexiones entre IEP, estres percibido, bienestar subjetivo, engagement academico, rendimiento, edad y sexo en una muestra de adolescentes; al tiempo que explora si estres percibido, bienestar subjetivo y/o engagement academico median la asociacion IEP y rendimiento. They had what we call a wandering life before resettling as adults in Romania. The objective of the paper is to present and analyse how the ethnic and cultural selfidentification discourse of the two is constructed and its modulations between a primordial stance and a contextual one.
