Developing narrative identities in youth pre-elite sport : bridging the present and the future

Narrative research has contributed to understandings of athletic identity as an evolving story of the self that is creatively put together by the agentic individual but necessarily dependent on broader narratives within which we all live our lives. However, most studies in sport have focused on retrospective ‘big stories’ of athletes’ lives, rather than on-going, future-oriented identity construction through storytelling. This article presents a possible model of parents’ training in an area at risk by a socio-economic and cultural point of view. It clarifies the theoretical framework that, during four years, has been the basis for the design, the implementation and the evaluation of several actions in a primary school in the city of Palermo. Social Inclusion and Exclusion in the Life Stories of Deported Asylum Seekers from Finland to Iraqi Kurdistan

This study explores how social inclusion and exclusion manifest as a dynamic continuum in the everyday lived realities of irregular migrants. Based on narratives of Iraqi Kurdish asylum seekers, who were eventually deported from Finland, the analysis depicts the ways in which societal structures, personal negotiations as well as relationships and social networks interplay in lives characterized by multiple locations, transitions and positions. Memoria y patrimonio vivo es un proyecto de innovación educativa centrado en el diálogo intergeneracional de las experiencias de vida y de vida educativa entre estudiantes séniors (Universitat dels Majors) y juniors (estudiantes de Magisterio Infantil), que se ha desarrollado en la Universitat de València (Campus d’Ontinyent) con sesiones quincenales a lo largo de seis meses de trabajo.
