A low-cost compact uniplanar Quasi–Yagi printed antenna

A low cost directive uniplanar broadband printed Quasi–Yagi antenna design is presented. As a particular realization, some prototypes have been designed to operate in the 2.45 GHz band. They have been then modeled, fabricated onto standard printed circuit dielectric substrate and tested successfully. For the design and the modeling processes, we have make use of FDTD based in-house developed algorithms. The obtained bandwidth is, for all the considered cases, better than 15%. The main radiation characteristics are 2–5.5 dBi gain, depending on the number of director elements, and better than 25 dB front-to-back ratio. Design of Yagi-like printed antennas for WLAN applications

A directive broadband printed Yagi-like antenna design is presented. We have focused on the 2.45 GHz WLAN band, at which some designs have been carried out. For the design and the modelling processes, we made use of FDTD based in-house developed algorithms. Some selected prototypes have then been fabricated onto a low-cost printed circuit board dielectric substrate and tested successfully. Bandwidths higher than 10% and moderate to high (>7 dBi) gains can be obtained this way. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Abstract Laboratory-scale studies were aimed at elucidating the physico-chemical aspects on the removal process of crystal violet (CV) from waters and solid substrates. The laponite clay (RD) and sand were chosen for the double aim at investigating them as CV adsorbents for water treatment and as substrates which mime the soil components. Sand is very effective in removing CV from waters. The cyclodextrins (CDs) were exploited as solubility-enhancement agents to remove CV from the solid substrates. During a pharmacokinetic study with hydroxyethyl starch we found, that this plasma substitute induces a regular increase of serum amylase. In 54 patients after infusion of 500 ml 6% hydroxyethyl starch (HES) an increase of serum amylase was observed, which in 51 cases exceeded the upper limit of normal (190 U/l). In most cases serum amylase reached values twice as high as the basal value. Renal function influenced duration of increased serum amylase values, but did not influence maximum increases (201 ±15 U/l; mean ± SEM). cited By 2; International audience; Micro Raman spectroscopy studies have been performed on GaN nanowires grown by Plasma-Assisted Molecular Beam Epitaxy on Silicon (111) substrate. From the analysis of experimental data, the emergence of a two peaks band located near 700 cm-1 has been attributed to the Raman scattering by surface-related phonons. We have analyzed the surface character of these two modes by changing the dielectric constant of the exterior medium and some experimental parameters.
