Dans cet article nous discutons la possibilité d'utiliser la sociologie pour renforcer l'efficacité de l'usage éducatif des sciences de l'éducation. Nous proposons que certains usages de la sociologie servent à construire la transition nécessaire entre les sciences sociales et les sciences de l'éducation. Resumen: En el presente artículo se realiza un estudio sobre diversas definiciones de alfabetización científica.Basándonos en ellas se elabora una serie de indicadores de la misma y se presenta un diseño experimental que pretende evaluar el grado de alfabetización científica del alumnado del bachillerato científico tecnológico (GCT) y el de humanidades y ciencias sociales (GHS) en dichos aspectos, comparándolos entre sí. Los resultados ponen de manifiesto que conceptualmente el alumnado del GCT tiene un mayor grado de conocimiento científico que el alumnado GHS. Classification trees for multivariate ordinal response: an application to Student Evaluation Teaching

Data from multiple items on an ordinal scale are commonly collected when qualitative variables, such as feelings, attitudes and many other behavioral and health-related variables are observed. In this paper we introduce a method to derive a distance-based tree for multivariate ordinal response that allows, when subject-specific characteristics are available, to derive common profiles for respondents giving the same/similar multivariate ratings. Special attention will be paid to the performance comparison in terms of AUC, for three different distances used as splitting criteria. There is an important need to prepare preservice teachers for the teaching of statistics. We will describe an experiment set up to achieve effective teacher training in statistics in the setting of an Italian university. Student–teachers had to prepare lessons using a real dataset collected on the Italian mail services. Not only did they look into all the usual basic concepts of statistics, but they also questioned and dealt with doubts and errors their pupils put forth. They discovered the richness of the concepts, the content of descriptive statistics and the basic analyses of observed data. This chapter introduces an interactional graphic tool together with a model for inquiry-based science teaching (abbreviated as IBST). The combination of the graphic tool and model offers an approach to support the planning, implementation, reflection and analysis of dialogic IBST. The potential use is illustrated here using a case study in which student teachers used IBST to develop their teaching. The interactional graphic and the model are fundamentally related to three established approaches to science teaching: inquiry-based science teaching, dialogic teaching and the communicative approach.
