Stanislao Cannizzaro and the Development of Chemistry in Palermo from 1862 to 1871

Stanislao Cannizzaro worked at Palermo University for about ten years. There he managed to establish a modern and well-equipped chemical laboratory. His international fame attracted co-workers even from abroad: Naquet, Lieben, and Körner came to Palermo to work with him. This greatly improved the quality of teaching and of research in Palermo, which became a worldwide acknowledged center of chemical culture. Introducción: El profesor universitario debe transmitir las habilidades técnicas y cognitivas sobre reanimación cardiopulmonar (RCP) en Pediatría con el método más efectivo. Metodología: 17 clases prácticas de Resucitación Cardiopulmonar de 2 horas para 225 alumnos. Se impartió el 2º curso de Enfermería Pediátrica de la Universidad de Valencia. Cada clase consistió en 3 casos clínicos en los que participaron 15 estudiantes y 3 monitores. El conocimiento de los estudiantes se evaluó con prueba-repetición de 11 preguntas y la satisfacción después de la simulación (cuestionario de 20 preguntas). [EN] Introduction: Nowadays, clinical simulation could be a key link in the teaching and learning of different procedures. Methodology: It is a quasi-experimental study, using three evaluation questionnaires as a method to collect the respective information to the acquisition of competences and satisfaction of the students regarding a theoretical-practical training on pediatric and neonatal CPR for students of 2nd year Nursing the University of Valencia. Understanding a Cartesian graph using the motion sensor

This paper shows the experimental results of a didactical activity conducted using the motion sensor. This MBL-tool (Microcomputers-Based Laboratory) allows to study rectilinear motion of bodies moving in front of it. In a fixed time interval the motion sensor reveals the distance of bodies from it and transmits the measures to a computer that visualizes the data in tabular and Cartesian representations. This research corroborates several works about the use of MBL-tools, according to which the use of the motion sensor allows the students to read, understand and produce kinematics graphs. The paper proposes a reflection on the educational dimension of cartoons from the double point of view of Media Education and Neuroeducation. Cartoons are either a means to highlight the educational potential of the fictional fruition practice and an activator memory, attention, emotion and perception which are at the basis of cognition and learning. This contribution describes an education research carried out in the A.Y. 2015/2016 with 12 in-service teachers and 198 university students attending the course of Primary Education Sciences at the University of Palermo. With the trend of global mobility and immigration, the Finnish government has been promoting integration and multiculturality since 1990. According to the Finnish National Agency for Education (FNAE), Heritage Language (oma äidinkieli) lessons aim to protect and develop immigrant students’ competencies in their heritage languages and cultures. This article shares a pilot 4-week PBL (Project-based Learning) module for a group of advanced Chinese language learners. It discusses the opportunities and challenges during the PBL and suggests possible improvements. nonPeerReviewed

En los estudios de Ciencia Política ha predominado tradicionalmente la metodología basada en la clase magistral y el trabajo individual. Sin embargo, la implantación del sistema de Bolonia implica un trabajo más autónomo de los estudiantes y el desarrollo de nuevas habilidades como el trabajo en grupo.
