[EN] This work demonstrates the use of a 2.0 tool, namely, Socrative, to evaluate one of the cross-curricular competences indicated by the Universitat Politècnica de València, specifically, comprehension and integration. It has been applied to the courses in different areas: sciences, engineering and languages. As part of its implementation, activities were proposed that could be done at the beginning, during or at the end of the class to, on the one hand, help students acquire the knowledge associated with the course(s), and on the other, gather evidence that demonstrates acquisition of said competence. International Assessment Surveys of Educational Achievement in Developing Countries

This paper reviews the most known international assessment studies that are conducted in the context of poor countries and highlights the lack of empirical evidence on the degree to which the contents of the tests really match countries' curricula. To illustrate, the paper evaluates the sensitivity of an international testing instrument by comparing the responses of students in two consecutive grades on the same battery of tests. Using propensity score matching to control for student and teacher characteristics, the results show that the tests are not grade sensitive, which raises the question of the validity of many empirical works that are based on similar instruments.

The diagnosis of IgE-mediated egg allergy lies both on a compatible clinical history and on the results of skin prick tests (SPTs) and IgEs levels. Both tests have good sensitivity but low specificity. For this reason, oral food challenge (OFC) is the ultimate gold standard for the diagnosis. The aim of this study was to systematically review the literature in order to identify, analyze, and synthesize the predictive value of SPT and specific IgEs both to egg white and to main egg allergens and to review the cutoffs suggested in the literature. Datorizēta krāsu redzes testa luminances profila ietekme uz hromatiskās jutības slieksni

Maģistra darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 45 lapām. Tas satur 2 tabulas, 31 attēlu, 4 pielikumus un 39 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Darba mērķis: Noskaidrot, vai testa spožuma izmaiņa ietekmē hromatiskās jutības slieksni. Metode: Pētījumā piedalījās 8 cilvēki, vienam no tiem ir krāsu redzes deficīts. Tika izveidots datorizētais krāsu redzes tests hromatiskās jutības noteikšanai 6 hromatiskajos virzienos. Krāsu redze tika novērtēta pie 4 spožuma profiliem. Krāsu redzes izvērtēja ar HRR testu un anomaloskopu Oculus HMC. Rezultāti: Normāliem trihromātiem spožums neitekmē hromatisko jutību protan un deutan virzienos. Bakalaura darbs ir uzrakstīts uz 42 lpp, satur 22 attēlus, 2 tabulas, 1 pielikumu un 36 literatūras atsauces. Darba mērķis: veikt datorizēta krāsu redzes testa aprobāciju un noskaidrot sesijas apjoma ietekmi uz iegūstamo rezultātu. Dalībnieki: 12 dalībnieki, no kuriem 2 bija ar krāsu redzes deficītu. Metode: dalībnieku krāsu redze tika novērtēta ar HRR pseidoizohromatiskajām kartēm, anomaloskopu un datorizēto krāsu redzes testu izmantojot trepju un konstanto stimulu metodi. Darbā apskatītas vairākas iespējamās divu izlašu problēmas izdzīvošanas datu analīzē, kā arī šīm problēmām pielāgoti hipotēžu pārbaudes testi. Izdzīvošanas datu īpatnība ir cenzēšana, kas jāņem vērā, izvēloties statistiskās metodes. Klasiska izdzīvošanas analīzes problēma ir divu izlašu sadlījumu funkciju salīdzināšana, kura tiek veikta ar Mantela testu, savukārt mediānu salīdzināšanai var izmantot testu gan par divu mediānu starpību, gan attiecību. Darba uzdevumi – izveidot efektīvāku un drošāku datu pārvaldes serveri Apimation testēšanas rīkam. Apimation ir HTTP protokola tīmekļu servisu testu automatizācijas rīks, kas tiek izmantots funkcionālitātes un veiktspējas testēšanai. Savukārt Apimation testēšanas datu pārvaldes API serveris ir šī rīka pamatdaļa, atbild par testēšanas datu pārvaldību, izmantojot autentifikācijas serveri kā resursu aizsardzības mehānisma nodrošinājumu.

Ievads. Pēdējos gados ir manāmi pieaugusi Staphylococcus epidermidis un S. aureus izraisītās intrahospitālās infekcijas. Kā parāda ASV statistikas dati, tad laika posmā no 1980. Gadam līdz 1990. Gadam, tad S. epidermidis izraisītās nozokomiālās infekcijas ir pieaugušas četras reizes (Banerjee et al.). Literatūra vēsta arī to, ka S. epidermidis ir atbildīts par lielu daļu nozokomiālo infekciju, kas izraisa bakterēmijā, kas saistītas ar svešķermeņu un dažādu medicīnas iekārtu ievietošanu cilvēka ķermenī (Huebner, 1999). Leishmania tarentolae and Leishmania infantum in humans, dogs and cats in the Pelagie archipelago, southern Italy.

Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) caused by Leishmania infantum is endemic in the Mediterranean basin with most of the infected human patients remaining asymptomatic. Recently, the saurian-associated Leishmania tarentolae was detected in human blood donors and in sheltered dogs. The circulation of L. infantum and L. tarentolae was investigated in humans, dogs and cats living in the Pelagie islands (Sicily, Italy) by multiple serological and molecular testing. Human serum samples (n = 346) were tested to assess the exposure to L. infantum by immunofluorescence antibody test (IFAT), enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and Western blot (WB) and to L. tarentolae by IFAT.
