[ES] Esta contribución presenta un estudio de traducción español-inglés basado en un corpus formado por las páginas web turísticas oficiales de las 15 ciudades españolas que hasta la fecha han sido declaradas Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad de la UNESCO. Nos centramos en la traducción de los referentes culturales y, más concretamente, en el léxico relacionado con la comida y la bebida. Alejandro Cioranescu's work (1911-1999) as a researcher in Comparative Literature was developed in Spain since the fifties. Cioranescu is not only author of the first modern manual of Comparative Literature written in Spanish but his interest in this discipline issues (exchanges, contacts, translation) remained present over more than four decades in his Spanish bibliography. This work recovers one of the Romanian philologist article that may well be seen as his ideal for literary translation.

This essay engages history of translation by examining one of its most important contributors: Sur, a literary journal that Victoria Ocampo ran for 45 years and 340 issues. The most celebrated Latin American writers of the 1960s ‘Boom’ unanimously recognized that their key literary influences were those that they had first read in translation in Sur.
