Se describe una experiencia de transferencia de conocimiento entre investigadores del proyecto ITSAL (Inmigración, Trabajo y SALud) y representantes de asociaciones que trabajan con población inmigrante para discutir los resultados obtenidos en esta investigación y las líneas de futuro. Para ello se llevó a cabo una reunión en la que participaron tres investigadoras y 18 representantes de 11 instituciones. We have voluntarily surrendered our private data to BigData companies like Google and FaceBook in hope that our data there will be safe and will be used only for ethical machine learning purposes to further advance artificial intelligence capabilities we already use daily: smart search, machine translation, speech recognition, guessing our interests etc. But alongside these positive BigData uses, unexpectedly the world was recently astounded by the success of the DataScience killer-application: microtargeting, discussed in this presentation.

Niniejszy artykuł prezentuje rozważania wstępne autorki związane z planowaną rozprawą habilitacyjną, której celem jest zrekonstruowanie historii polskiego przekładu powieści Der Zauberberg (Czarodziejska góra) Thomasa Manna oraz zanalizowanie jego oddziaływania na polską recepcję utworu. Ze względu na fakt, że obie części powieści zostały przełożone przez różnych tłumaczy, a tom drugi doczekał się dwóch wersji przekładu (z roku 1930 oraz z 1953), powstaje przy tym fundamentalne pytanie o spójność wyłaniającego się z przekładu światopoglądu dzieła. A Translation of Pseudo Boolean Constraints to SAT

Research note; This paper introduces a new CNF encoding of pseudo-Boolean constraints, which allows unit propagation to maintain generalized arc consistency. In the worst case, the size of the produced formula can be exponentially related to the size of the input constraint, but some important classes of pseudo-Boolean constraints, including Boolean cardinality constraints, are encoded in polynomial time and size. The proposed encoding was integrated in a solver based on the zCha SAT solver and submitted to the PB05 evaluation. The results provide new perspectives in the field of full CNF approach of pseudo-Boolean constraints solving.

Maģistra darba tēma ir „Filmu nosaukumu pragmatiskā adaptācija Latvijas auditorijai tulkojumos no angļu valodas latviešu un krievu valodā”. Maģistra darba ietvaros veiktā pētījuma periods ir 25 gadi: no 1993. g. līdz 2018. g. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt, kā tiek tulkoti filmu nosaukumi no angļu valodas latviešu un krievu valodā, cik bieži tiek pielietota pragmatiskā adaptācija un lokalizācija, kā arī izpētīt filmas nosaukuma un vokatīvā teksta saikni. Būtiska maģistra darba pētījuma vadlīnija ir Andreja Veisberga un Ievas Zaubergas teorētiskais pamatojums. Między estetyką a lingwistyką. Koncepcja ewaluacji jakości tłumaczenia według Sigrid Kupsch-Losereit a przekład literacki

Biorąc za punkt wyjścia perspektywę historyczną oraz ewolucję kultury translacji w Polsce od lat 20. XX wieku aż po czasy współczesne, autorka analizuje stopniową zmianę paradygmatu w odniesieniu do roli i znaczenia przekładu literackiego. W dalszej części zostaje podjęta refleksja na temat wybranych lingwistycznych i estetycznych kryteriów oceny jakości przekładu, w celu zbadania, na ile produktywne może okazać się podejście interdyscyplinarne w tym zakresie. Szczegółowej analizie zostają poddane kryteria oceny jakości tłumaczenia zaproponowane przez Sigrid Kupsch-Losereit pod względem możliwości ich zastosowania do przekładów tekstów literackich.
