The publication in 1696 of the Catalan-Latin dictionary Gazophylacium Catalano-Latinum by Joan Lacavalleria led to the incorporation into Catalan of a large number of technical terms, in spite of the early modern sociocultural context being unfavourable to scientific and technical developments. The Gazophylacium is the Catalan version of a French-Latin dictionary, Le Dictionaire royal augmente by Francois-Antoine Pomey. This paper presents the project Poetriae, focusing on the steps already taken and on the ongoing work, as well as on its methods and future steps. Mainly, Poetriae aims at building a digital library of Medieval and Golden Age Castilian poetry treatises. It will create digital editions for them, by philologically marking up each metrical and poetic concept in an unambiguous way, in order to allow treatises to be retrievable not just by bibliographic metadata, but also by key concepts, such as poetic genre, stanza types, rhyme, etc. The project also intends to enable automatic analysis and visualizations of such data. Šī maģistra darba mērķis ir izpētīt veiksmīgākos medicīniskās terminoloģijas pasniegšanas metodes augstskolas līmeņa studentiem. Izmantojot triangulācijas metodi, autore analizēja augstskolas pasniedzēju, praktizējošo fizioterapeitu un studentu viedokļus par fizioterapijas specialitātes medicīniskās terminoloģijas atlasi un mācīšanas veidiem. Teorētiskajā daļā autore apskata dažādas terminoloģijas mācīšanas klasifikācijas un medicīniskā diskursa īpatnības. Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot nozīmi testu izveidē, kas ir balstīti uz akadēmisko vārdu sarakstiem, lai novērtēt akadēmisko vārdu zināšanas studējošiem, kas mācās angļu valodu, piemērojot tulkošanu, analizējot kvantitatīvos datus, kas tika savākti no studējošo atsauksmēm. Pētījums sniedz teorētisko informāciju par akadēmiskiem vārdiem un akadēmisko vārdu sarakstiem un irbalstīts uz tādiem autoriem, ka Nation, Stubbs, Schmitt un citiem. Pētniecības metode bija testa izstrāde. Dati tika savākti no anglu valodas studējošo atsauksmēm. Dans cette étude les « collocations fondamentales » sont envisagées comme des unités polylexicales significatives (unies par des liens collocationnels) fréquentes (dans l'usage) ou non fréquentes (lorsqu'elles sont pertinentes pour la communication) qui représentent pour les locuteurs natifs les contextes les plus essentiels d'un mot donné. Diplomdarba autore ir izpētījusi “Quizlet” kā vārdu krājuma uzlabošanas un apguves rīku angļu valodas stundās privātajā mācību praksē. Nowadays, many people use the World Wide Web to seek medical and health information but different users, such as providers (e.g., physicians) and consumers (e.g., patients), have different needs and bring different levels of reading ability and prior knowledge. Increasing evidence in the literature supports the usefulness of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) in studying reading processes. Two brain regions are primarily involved in phonological decoding: the left superior temporal gyrus (STG), which is associated with the auditory representation of spoken words, and the left inferior parietal lobe (IPL), which operates in phonological computation. Abstract LDOCE uses a defining vocabulary to make their definitions intelligible to the user. Critics claim this policy may result in imprecise definitions, something especially noticeable in certain concrete and abstract words that are difficult to define by a definition only. This paper examines to what extent LDOCE definitions of such words help learners identify the objects and words being defined.
