Evaluating the performance of a new picking algorithm based on the variance piecewise constant models

In this paper, a new picking algorithm for the automatic seismogram onset time determination is tested on a dataset of simulated waveforms. We aim at capturing the variations in the performance due to some characteristics of both the seismic event and its detection, which in turn affect some characteristics of the waveforms. We therefore simulate seismic events with different magnitude, and assumed to be detected with different distances from the nearest seismic station. Our tests permit to highlight the scenarios most suitable for our algorithm.

The COVID-19 disease, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), is a rapidly emerging pandemic which has enforced extreme containment measures worldwide. In the absence of a vaccine or efficient treatment, cost-effective epidemiological surveillance strategies are urgently needed. Here, we have used RT-qPCR for SARS-CoV-2 detection in a series of longitudinal metropolitan wastewaters samples collected from February to April 2020, during the earliest stages of the epidemic in the Region of Valencia, Spain. Under Mediter-ranean conditions,P. nawaeforms pseudothecia in the leaf litter during winter and ascospores are released in spring infecting susceptible leaves. Persimmon growers are advised to apply fungicides for CLS control during the period of inoculum availability, which was defined based on ascospore counts under the microscope. International audience; L'étude du remplacement du dirigeant emblématique de l'entreprise Carrefour, au début de l'année 2005, permet d'illustrer le rôle disciplinaire joué par les analystes financiers, ainsi que les effets pervers résultant de la pression exercée par ces derniers sur la qualité des états financiers. En effet, il apparaît que l'ancien dirigeant a géré les résultats à la hausse au cours des deux années précédentes, pour éviter d'annoncer une « mauvaise surprise » (un bénéfice de l'exercice inférieur aux bénéfices prévus par les analystes), alors que le nouveau dirigeant a eu tendance à « nettoyer » les comptes dès sa prise de fonction.
