Abstract In Sumba Island – Indonesia, the implantation of vernacular houses, inside and outside traditional villages, is considered to be an efficient proxy for the on-going complex cultural transformations resulting from globalization. This study presents an easily reproducible workflow allowing buildings to be automatically detected from satellite imagery, demonstrating how modern computer vision methods based on deep learning can help in this task, which would be far too time-consuming when undertaken by hand. Graphic and metric archaeological documentation is an activity that requires the capture of information from different sources, accurate processing and comprehensive analysis. If monitoring of the state of conservation is required, this task has to be performed before intervention, during and after the completion of the works in a repetitive way. This paper presents the use of terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) in order to effectively produce, prior to intervention, accurate and high-resolution 3D models of a cave with engravings dating back to the Upper Palaeolithic era. The documentation, dissemination, and enhancement of Cultural Heritage is of great relevance. To that end, technological tools and interactive solutions (e.g., 3D models) have become increasingly popular. Historical silk fabrics are nearly flat objects, very fragile and with complex internal geometries, related to different weaving techniques and types of yarns. A space X is said to be cellular-Lindelof if for every cellular family $$\mathcal {U}$$ there is a Lindelof subspace L of X which meets every element of $$\mathcal {U}$$ . Cellular-Lindelof spaces generalize both Lindelof spaces and spaces with the countable chain condition. Solving questions of Xuan and Song, we prove that every cellular-Lindelof monotonically normal space is Lindelof and that every cellular-Lindelof space with a regular $$G_\delta $$ -diagonal has cardinality at most $$2^\mathfrak {c}$$ . Topological Dual Systems for Spaces of Vector Measure p-Integrable Functions

[EN] We show a Dvoretzky-Rogers type theorem for the adapted version of the q-summing operators to the topology of the convergence of the vector valued integrals on Banach function spaces. In the pursuit of this objective we prove that the mere summability of the identity map does not guarantee that the space has to be finite dimensional, contrary to the classical case. Some local compactness assumptions on the unit balls are required. State classification for autonomous gas sample taking using deep convolutional neural networks

Despite recent rapid advances and successful large-scale application of deep Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) using image, video, sound, text and time-series data, its adoption within the oil and gas industry in particular have been sparse. Catching the radio flare in CTA 102

We performed multifrequency multiepoch Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) observations of the blazar CTA 102 during its 2006 radio flare, the strongest ever reported for this source. These observations provide an excellent opportunity to investigate the evolution of the physical properties of blazars, especially during these flaring events. We want to study the kinematic changes in the source during the strong radio outburst in April 2006 and test the assumption of a shock-shock interaction. This assumption is based on the analysis and modeling of the single-dish observations of CTA\,102 (Paper I).
