Le questioni poste nel saggio portano a considerare la dinamica contemporanea come il luogo d’elaborazione di un concetto interpretativo dell’architettura, intesa come servizio/funzione nei confronti delle mutevoli necessità dell’utenza, elemento di indirizzo strategico nella individuazione di proposte anche sostenibili. Un pretesto, questo, per parlare del progetto e spingersi oltre, anche solo di poco nel luogo ‘rassicurante’ depositario dell’identità, delle abitudini e delle emozioni negli “Interni” del nostro quotidiano.

Le questioni poste in questo scritto sono legate ad punto di vista intrapreso da molta parte dell’architettura contemporanea che nello specifico, parla di relazioni e continuità spaziale come elementi fondamentali della dimensione della città contemporanea. Rileggere i saggi scritti su Palermo da Angelo Torricelli mi rimanda, con un minimo di nostalgia, a un periodo condiviso e vissuto in una condizione di grande libertà scientifica e di spensieratezza accademica, se è consentito usare un termine - forse inappropriato - ma che segna bene la differenza tra quegli anni e gli attuali. Intrinsic spin-orbit interaction in diffusive normal wire Josephson weak links: Supercurrent and density of states

We study the effect of the intrinsic (Rashba or Dresselhaus) spin-orbit interaction in superconductor--nanowire--superconductor (SNS) weak links in the presence of a spin-splitting field that can result either from an intrinsic exchange field or the Zeeman effect of an applied field. We solve the full non-linear Usadel equations numerically and analyze the resulting supercurrent through the weak link and the behavior of the density of states in the center of the wire. We point out how the presence of the spin-orbit interaction gives rise to a long-range spin triplet supercurrent, which remains finite even in the limit of very large exchange fields. Is Sentiment Risk Priced By Stock Market?

International audience; This study tests if the financial markets price the investors sentiment risk. We construct portfolios based upon the stock returns exposure to sentiment. Our results show that the portfolio returns are positively correlated with the exposure of stocks to sentiment. The strategy that consists of buying stocks with the highest exposure to sentiment and selling stocks with the lowest exposure to sentiment generates a significant raw profit. Exploring the sources of profit, we find that neither the traditional risk factors nor the momentum factor can account for the profit. However, we find that the addition of the sentiment risk premium contributes to explain the profit.

We introduce in this chapter discourse analysis as a methodological tool for studying work-family issues, particularly those of men and fathers in work and care. Work and family involve complex processes and dynamics, where reconciling different interpretations of events are temporally and contextually changing. Current discourses on involved fatherhood raise many questions about men's work and family relationships and the role of care in their life. Teenage Time Use and Educational Attainment in Adulthood in Finland

We investigated the role of teenage everyday social ties in educational outcomes by examining the association between teenage time use and educational attainment in adulthood. The sample consisted of young people aged 10–18 from the 1979 Finnish Time Use Survey, and the same respondents’ educational attainment later in life recorded from population register data at the year of 40th birthday (n = 366 men and 393 women). This article focuses on skilled migration flows from Southern Europe into Mexico. From semi-structured interviews with Spanish and Italian immigrants living in four Mexican cities of Mexico, it addresses both reasons for immigration and labour incorporation in Mexican labour markets. Specifically, it explores: i) the role of the economic crisis and the lack of good employment in the countries of origin as a key factor when deciding an international migration; ii) the employment opportunities offered in Mexican labour markets for the highly-skilled immigrants, and iii) the role played by the Mexican state and its current immigration law when channelling this group into the labour market
