Dendritic Cells Ameliorate Autoimmunity in the CNS by Controlling the Homeostasis of PD-1 Receptor+ Regulatory T Cells
2012
SummaryMature dendritic cells (DCs) are established as unrivaled antigen-presenting cells (APCs) in the initiation of immune responses, whereas steady-state DCs induce peripheral T cell tolerance. Using various genetic approaches, we depleted CD11c+ DCs in mice and induced autoimmune CNS inflammation. Unexpectedly, mice lacking DCs developed aggravated disease compared to control mice. Furthermore, when we engineered DCs to present a CNS-associated autoantigen in an induced manner, we found robust tolerance that prevented disease, which coincided with an upregulation of the PD-1 receptor on antigen-specific T cells. Additionally, we showed that PD-1 was necessary for DC-mediated induction o…

Innføring av CRM i offentlig sektor
2007
Framing of Corporate Social Responsibility by Agribusiness in the USA and Europe : A study of whether the Corporate Social Responsibility disclosure …
2016
Master thesis Business Administration BE501 - University of Agder 2016 This thesis examines whether the CSR reports by agricultural biotechnology and agrochemical companies in the USA and Europe align to the stakeholders’ (NGOs and the external constituents) expectations. The focus is on issues of key importance to these firms and the stakeholders, including GMOs, chemicals, and the corporate control over seeds. Framing creates expectations, as framing theory indicates framing is to focus on some of the many facets through which an issue can be seen, and highlight them using salient words and phrases to render them significant. The analysis revealed that 16 companies prepare CSR reports: 8 …
Enhancerless Cytomegalovirus Is Capable of Establishing a Low-Level Maintenance Infection in Severely Immunodeficient Host Tissues but Fails in Expon…
2010
ABSTRACT Major immediate-early transcriptional enhancers are genetic control elements that act, through docking with host transcription factors, as a decisive regulatory unit for efficient initiation of the productive virus cycle. Animal models are required for studying the function of enhancers paradigmatically in host organs. Here, we have sought to quantitatively assess the establishment, maintenance, and level of in vivo growth of enhancerless mutants of murine cytomegalovirus in comparison with those of an enhancer-bearing counterpart in models of the immunocompromised or immunologically immature host. Evidence is presented showing that enhancerless viruses are capable of forming restr…
Professional autonomy or political loyalty? How Norwegian Chief Municipality Officers handles the balance between profession and politics
2021
Analysis of good corporate governance at Indonesian telecom industry after privatization: case study at PT Telekom an PT Indosat
2006
Masteroppgave i økonomi og administrasjon, Høgskolen i Agder, Kristiansand The objective of this research is to examine whether there are differences of implementation of good corporate governance of company which privatized using different methods. This is relevant with the change of privatization pattern conducted by the government of Indonesia toward its state-owned companies, from Public Offering to Strategic Sale. One of important decisions taken by the government after the economic crisis is privatization of state-owned companies. It is done because the government finds difficulties to financing its national development programs and economic recovery. From company side, the change of …

Master's thesis Innovative governance and public management ME523 - University of Agder 2019 The general endangered status of indigenous languages worldwide is a reality that demands quick action from authorities belonging to different governmental spheres to safeguard their use, protection and further development for the next generations. In viewof the complexity of this issue, which stretches itself over public sectors such as health and education, public and private actors have sought to join forces to guarantee the promotion of indigenous languages. Hence, this thesis aims to understand how the existence of different actors within a multi-governance system can enable the promotion of th…
The “I” between G and C: E-Government intermediaries in developing countries
2011
Published version of an article from the journal: The Electronic Journal of Information Systems in Developing Countries. Also available from the publisher: http://www.ejisdc.org/Ojs2/index.php/ejisdc/article/viewFile/826/371 While there has been a rapid growth in e-Government initiatives in developing countries, whether it has led to providing effective government services to the citizens has remained a question of concern. Evidence suggests that this objective is far from being met. The main hurdle has been that an overwhelming part of the citizens in these countries do not have the capability to either access government information physically or to use it effectively even when they can ac…
Electronic government and corruption: Systematic literature review, framework, and agenda for future research
2021
Abstract The notion of corruption has emerged as a prominent topic against the backdrop of e-government. However, there are diverse but disorganized viewpoints about the relationship between e-government and corruption, thus creating difficulties in obtaining a structured overview of the existing literature and identifying the avenues to take this research area forward. Despite this, prior studies have made limited attempts to gather these fragmented observations to guide future research holistically. To address this concern, we conduct a systematic literature review (SLR) of 63 articles discussing e-government and corruption and provide a comprehensive synthesis of the current knowledge in…
