Se analiza en primer lugar, a la luz de la investigación, cuáles han sido los progresos realizados en el campo de la formación del profesorado de ciencias durante las dos últimas décadas así como las dificultades encontradas. Tomando en consideración los resultados de dicho análisis, se intentan fundamentar propuestas de renovación de la formación del profesorado para el logro de una educación científica de calidad que responda a las nuevas necesidades sociales.

En este artículo se analizan las vinculaciones investigación/innovación en la enseñanza de las ciencias, mostrando resultados que ponen de manifiesto que esta relación no es en la práctica tan estrecha como sería conveniente debido principalmente a dos causas: por un lado, los docentes prestan una escasa atención a la investigación en didáctica de las ciencias e incluso desconocen las revistas especializadas en las que dicha investigación se publica; y, por otro, los investigadores ven la innovación como una mera aplicación de la investigación. Pituitary carcinomas (PCa) are extremely rare, indistinguishable from pituitary adenomas on histopathological grounds and have a poor prognosis. Most PCa start as PRL or ACTH secreting tumors in males, with relapsing invasive behaviour, refractoriness to medical and radiotherapy and increasing hormonal levels. The presence of distant metastases is still required for the diagnosis of PCa. The association with genetic endocrine diseases must be taken into account, since it adds further risk of evolution towards malignancy. AbstractContrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) greatly improved the diagnostic accuracy of US in the detection and characterization of focal liver lesions (FLLs), and it is suggested and often included in many international guidelines as an important diagnostic tool in the imaging work-up of cirrhotic patients at risk for developing hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). In particular, CEUS Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS) provides standardized terminology, interpretation, and reporting for the diagnosis of HCC. The aim of this pictorial essay is to illustrate CEUS features of nodules discovered at US in cirrhotic liver according to LI-RADS categorization.

A collection of 26 polyammonium cyclophane-type macrocycles with a large structural diversity has been screened for G-quadruplex recognition. A two-step selection procedure based on the FRET-melting assay was carried out enabling identification of macrocycles of high affinity (ΔT1/2up to30°C) and high selectivity for the human telomeric G-quadruplex. The contribution analyses the current Italian prison system, which has been called upon on to resolve its structural problems. The Council of Europe, in fact, in 2013 condemned Italy for inhuman treatment in its prisons. The principal accusation concerns the problem of overcrowding. The country has responded with solutions such as the application of the open system, which provides cells solely for overnight stays, and dynamic monitoring, an effective system for ensuring order in the institutions.
