Input-to-State Stability of Lur’e Hyperbolic Distributed Complex-Valued Parameter Control Systems: LOI Approach
2013
Published version of an article in the journal: Mathematical Problems in Engineering. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1155/2013/364057 Open access In this work, input-to-state stability of Lur'e hyperbolic distributed complex-valued parameter control systems has been addressed. Using comparison principle, delay-dependent sufficient conditions for the input-to-state stability in complex Hilbert spaces are established in terms of linear operator inequalities. Finally, numerical computation illustrates our result.
EVALUATION OF THE EFFECTS OF CONTI- NUOUS PREPERITONEAL WOUND INFILTRATION ON POSTOPERATIVE RESPIRATORY PERFORMANCE IN PATIENTS WHO UNDERWENT MAJOR A…
2013
Aim. According to the recent literature, continuous pre-perito- neal wound infiltration with local anaesthetics (CPWI) is an effective analgesic therapy in patients who undergo major abdominal surgery 1. Although it is not inferior to other com- monly used techniques in postoperative analgesia, many studies report conflictive results about its efficacy compared to them 2. The aim of our study was to evaluate the effects of CPWI on the postoperative respiratory performance in patients after major abdominal surgery. Materials and methods. From June 2011 to July 2012, a total of 14 patients have been evaluated. All patients were treated using the protocol generally used in our Department for t…
Inclusion complexes of cyclomaltooligosaccharides (cyclodextrins) with melatonin in solid phase
2005
Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FT-IR) and X-Ray diffraction (XRD) investigations were carried out on MLT plus α-, β- and γ-CD physical mixtures and lyophilized or crystalline MLT/α-, β-, γ-CD complexes. Inclusion complexes formation between MLT and cyclodextrins in solid phase has been emphasized by the significant differences between IR and XRD spectra of physical mixtures with respect to those of the complexes. The structure of MLT CDs complexes in the solid state as well as the biochemical and pharmaceutical implications are discussed.
Evaluation of Fused Pyrrolothiazole Systems as Correctors of Mutant CFTR Protein.
2021
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease caused by mutations that impair the function of the CFTR chloride channel. The most frequent mutation, F508del, causes misfolding and premature degradation of CFTR protein. This defect can be overcome with pharmacological agents named “correctors”. So far, at least three different classes of correctors have been identified based on the additive/synergistic effects that are obtained when compounds of different classes are combined together. The development of class 2 correctors has lagged behind that of compounds belonging to the other classes. It was shown that the efficacy of the prototypical class 2 corrector, the bithiazole corr-4a, could be impr…
Näennäinen normi vai elettyä demokratiaa?
2021

Antimicrobial Activity of Resveratrol Analogues
2014
Stilbenes, especially resveratrol and its derivatives, have become famous for their positive effects on a wide range of medical disorders, as indicated by a huge number of published studies. A less investigated area of research is their antimicrobial properties. A series of 13 trans-resveratrol analogues was synthesized via Wittig or Heck reactions, and their antimicrobial activity assessed on two different grapevine pathogens responsible for severe diseases in the vineyard. The entire series, together with resveratrol, was first evaluated on the zoospore mobility and sporulation level of Plasmopara viticola (the oomycete responsible for downy mildew). Stilbenes displayed a spectrum of acti…
Characterizations of convex approximate subdifferential calculus in Banach spaces
2016
International audience; We establish subdifferential calculus rules for the sum of convex functions defined on normed spaces. This is achieved by means of a condition relying on the continuity behaviour of the inf-convolution of their corresponding conjugates, with respect to any given topology intermediate between the norm and the weak* topologies on the dual space. Such a condition turns out to also be necessary in Banach spaces. These results extend both the classical formulas by Hiriart-Urruty and Phelps and by Thibault.
Monotone Concave Operators: An application to the existence and uniqueness of solutions to the Bellman equation
2008
We propose a new approach to the issue of existence and uniqueness of solutions to the Bellman equation, exploiting an emerging class of methods, called monotone map methods, pioneered in the work of Krasnosel’skii (1964) and Krasnosel’skii-Zabreiko (1984). The approach is technically simple and intuitive. It is derived from geometric ideas related to the study of fixed points for monotone concave operators defined on partially order spaces.
