The title molecule, (E)-2,3′,4,5-tetramethoxystilbene, C18H20O4, is virtually planar. The angle between the two benzene rings is 4.06 (6)°. The intermolecular interactions present in the structure are weak. There are C—H...O hydrogen bonds and C—H...π-electron ring interactions. The molecules are ordered into planes that are parallel to (overline{1}01). The distance between adjacent planes is about 3.3 Å and therefore π–π electron interactions between the aromatic planes are also plausible.

Although results from in vitro studies and clinical trials demonstrate strong associations between oxidative stress and cardiovascular risk, to date still no convincing data are available to suggest that treatment with antioxidants might reduce vascular events. Oxidative modifications of low-density lipoproteins (LDL) represent an early stage of atherosclerosis, and small, dense LDL are more susceptible to oxidation than larger, more buoyant particles. Oxidized LDL are independent predictors of subclinical and clinical atherosclerosis. Recent studies suggested that novel therapeutic strategies may take into account the removal of such particles from circulation. Future research is required …

W artykule przedstawiona została problematyka funkcjonowania dyplomacji Rzeczypospolitej w stosunkach z Rosją w latach 1711-1763. Za dolną cezurę przyjęto poselstwo Marcjana Dominika Wołłowicza do cara Piotra I, które jednoznacznie zakończyło okres separatystycznych litewskich działań dyplomatycznych z pierwszej dekady XVIII wieku. Przywrócona została zasada prowadzenia wspólnej polityki zagranicznej Korony i Wielkiego Księstwa z uwzględnieniem większego zainteresowania Litwinów stosunkami z Rosją. Znajdowało to swój wyraz w przygotowywaniu instrukcji i innych dokumentów poselskich przez kancelarie litewskie, jak też w zwyczajowym udziale w każdej misji Litwina jako eksponowanego członka po…
