How critical thinking should be at the heart of digital interactions?

In this paper, we explore how to teach critical thinking in the digital age, in order to promote the autonomy of practitioners. An interaction theory is proposed to identify the constraints that structure digital creativity. This model helps to design a critical pedagogy, linking without opposing a procedural approach to a reflective approach. The article presents an implementation of this model in a writing course on a social network. The study of students' activity logs shows the presence of forms of objectivity and reflexivity, reflecting the development of critical thinking. RESUMEN En este artículo se aborda la cuestión de China y los derechos humanos desde la perspectiva que, según opinión común, constituye la base de esa cultura: el confucianismo. Una perspectiva que es analizada tanto desde su marco contextual como en sí misma, cotejándola con el concepto de derechos humanos. El resultado de todo ello lleva a la conclusión de que los derechos humanos son ajenos al confucianismo y por ello a la cultura china. Los estudiosos de la conversación coinciden en señalar el carácter especial de la relación que une a dos hablantes en un encuentro verbal. Nuestro objetivo en el presente estudio es profundizar un poco más en tales relaciones. Analizaremos, pues, algunos de los rasgos fundamentales a los que se subordina una toma de turno conversacional, como la relación que vincula al hablante y los oyentes, los canales de retroalimentación, la construcción colaborativa de los enunciados o la progresión acumulativa que caracteriza la información. Englobaremos todas estas cuestiones bajo el nombre genérico de dinamismo conversacional.

This paper presents the initial results of a two-year research project, the Data Journalism Work Practices, which focuses on newsrooms in Finland, UK and US. Data journalism or data-driven journalism has been defined simply as journalism based on large data sets (or big data) Rogers 2011; Bounegru et al. 2012). According to our ongoing research on data journalism work methods, we can claim this has been an oversimplification. The aim of this paper is to defend an adequate reading of Aristotle´s deliberative rhetoric that allows us to understand practical rationalization as a process of interpretation of human actions. After the consideration of rhetoric as a general human ability that is indispensable for political coexistence, the impact of the Aristotelian rhetorical proposal is presented, not just as a defense of the importance of rhetoric in a democratic society, but also as a novel attempt to understand what it means to speak of practical rationality.
