Direct determination of the excitation energy of the quasistable isomer 180mTa

2022

180mTa is a naturally abundant quasistable nuclide and the longest-lived nuclear isomer known to date. It is of interest, among others, for the search for dark matter, for the development of a γ laser, and for astrophysics. So far, its excitation energy has not been measured directly but has been based on an evaluation of available nuclear reaction data. We have determined the excitation energy of this isomer with high accuracy using the Penning-trap mass spectrometer JYFLTRAP. The determined mass difference between the ground and isomeric states of 180Ta yields an excitation energy of 76.79(55) keV for 180mTa. In this paper, five authors account for the rethinking of a conference as a series of postcards, letters, rules and silent moments so that traditional hierarchies of knowledge could be overturned or, at least, sidelined. We recount how the place we convened was enlisted as an actor and the dramas and devices we applied to encounter it. We use this accounting to problematize the conventional practices of goal-oriented meetings and co-authored papers as forms of academic meaning-making. Ikääntymisen vaikutus visuaaliseen prosessointiin

Tämän pro gradu -tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvittää aivojen automaattisen muutoksen havaitsemisjärjestelmän toimintaa visuaalisessa järjestelmässä tapahtumasidonnaisten herätevasteiden (ERP) avulla. Lisäksi tutkielmassa haluttiin selvittää ikääntymisen mahdollisia vaikutuksia tämän järjestelmän toimintaan vertailemalla toisiinsa terveiden nuorten aikuisten (n=19, 22-27 vuotta) ja ikääntyneiden (n=10, 69-95 vuotta) visuaalisia herätevasteita N2- ja P3 -komponenteissa. The aim of this research case is to shed some empirical light on the effects of participatory practices from the perspective of Sen’s capability approach in a Finnish social enterprise. Using a mixed method approach we explore how participatory practices build social inclusion by enabling both company’s employees and customers to engage in social agency. The case study findings articulate the importance of participatory practices to employees’ perceptions of meaningfulness of life and being able to meet customers (who are mentally disabled) needs on the one hand and customers’ experience of information sharing and feedback giving to the employees and helping other customers. peerReviewed

The starting point of this paper is that advancing social inclusion – making all groups of people feel important and valued – is crucial to consider since it advances the quality of life and development of humans, organizations, and societies. The objective of this paper is to introduce the case of a social innovation called the Y-Foundation. The Y-Foundation is a social enterprise operating in Finland and aiming to promote opportunities for homeless people. Having a home can make solving health and social problems much easier.
