Abstract Background Fabry disease (FD) is a hereditary metabolic disorder caused by the partial or total inactivation of a lysosomal hydrolase, the enzyme α-galactosidase A (GLA). This inactivation is responsible for the storage of undegraded glycosphingolipids in the lysosomes with subsequent cellular and microvascular dysfunction. The incidence of disease is estimated at 1:40,000 in the general population, although neonatal screening initiatives have found an unexpectedly high prevalence of genetic alterations, up to 1:3,100, in newborns in Italy, and have identified a surprisingly high frequency of newborn males with genetic alterations (about 1:1,500) in Taiwan. Screening of halogenated aromatic compounds in some raw material lots for an aluminium recycling plant

Four samples of scrap raw materials for an aluminium recycling plant were screened for the occurrence of persistent halogenated aromatic compounds. The samples contained waste from handling of electric and electronic plastics, filter dust from electronic crusher, cyclone dust from electronic crusher and light fluff from car shredder. In our screening analyses, brominated flame retardants were observed in all samples. Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE) were identified in all samples in amounts of 245–67450 ng/g. A la hora de concretar las características de un teatro que mezcle narración y drama, resulta evidente que no se puede establecer un pacto perceptivo rígido: desde el primer momento, la obra de teatro debe introducir a los espectadores en un campo abierto de posibilidades donde ni la dimensión temporal del actor sea necesariamente lineal ni se enmarque en estructuras de tipo discursivo por las que una situación deba desarrollarse de inicio a fin. En aquest article es presenta una comparació crítica detallada dels llenguatges que va posar en joc Josep Carner en dues versions diferents d’El malalt imaginari de Molière. La primera, publicada l’any 1909, havia estat feta el 1905 per a una producció d’Adrià Gual; la segona va aparèixer el 1921 en una col·lecció d’obres literàries en traducció que dirigia Carner mateix, la Biblioteca Literària. És interessant de comparar-ne les solucions perquè aquest no és un simple cas de revisió, sinó un cas de retraducció, amb molts aspectes culturals implicats. En els manuscrits les formes «crestià», «crestiana», «crestianisme», etc. són freqüents i semblen justificar el títol "Crestià". El present article posa en relleu que en els manuscrits medievals aquests termes s’abreujaven d’acord amb les recomanacions de teòlegs i místics que desitjaven manifestar, a través de l’ús de lletres especials i d’abreviatures, els misteris inherents a les lletres dels noms «Jesús» i «Crist». This article describes the process by which the Nou Diccionari Normatiu de la Llengua Catalana (NDNLC) has been made; this dictionary brings up to date and regularizes Pompeu Fabra’s Diccionari General de la Llengua Catalana (DGLC), which implies, on the one hand, adding to the dictionary new words brought about by different social habits and by the progress of Science and technology, and, on the other hand, bringing the contents of the dictionary up to date.
