Objective: Adults with degenerative spinal deformity (ASD) have lower health-related quality of life (HRQL) compared to the general population. Applying Rasch Measurement Theory (RMT), this study tested the revised Scoliosis Research Society-22 (SRS-22r) HRQL instrument among symptomatic adult patients with degenerative spinal disorders and varying degrees of ASD. Methods: SRS-22r data from 637 outpatient spine clinic patients with degenerative spine conditions were investigated for unidimensionality, item/scale fit, differential item functioning (DIF), scale coverage/targeting, and person separation index (PSI) using RMT. Parastais kadiķis ir nozīmīga kailsēkļu suga Latvijā. Lai noteiktu kadiķa skuju anatomiskās uzbūves atšķirības dažādu laikapstākļu ietekmē, izvēlējās parametrus, kuriem noteikt izmēru atšķirības. Paraugus ievāca trīs parauglaukumos: Valmierā, Kolkā, Sakas pagastā. Katrā parauglaukumā no 30 ievāktajām skujām piecām skujām pagatavoja anatomiskos griezumus. Griezumiem veica izpēti nosakot parametru izmērus. Katrai paraugu ievākšanas vietai tuvākajai meteoroloģiskajai stacijai ievāca datus par vidējo gaisa temperatūru, nokrišņu daudzumu, gaisa mitrumu. Abstract Introduction The aim of the study was to compare the effectiveness of cognitive behavioural therapy interventions for insomnia (CBT-I) to that of a sleep hygiene intervention in a randomized controlled design among shift workers. We also studied whether the features of shift work disorder (SWD) affected the results. Methods A total of 83 shift workers with insomnia disorder were partially randomized into a group-based CBT-I, self-help CBT-I, or sleep hygiene control intervention. Low‐Valent Germanylidene Anions: Efficient Single‐Site Nucleophiles for Activation of Small Molecules

Abstract Rare mononuclear and helical chain low‐valent germanylidene anions supported by cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbene and hypermetallyl ligands were synthesised by stepwise reduction from corresponding germylene precursors via stable and isolable germanium radicals. The electronic structures of the anions can be described with ylidene and ylidone resonance forms with the Ge−C π‐electrons capable of binding even weak electrophiles. The germanylidene anions reacted with CO2 to give μ‐CO2‐κC:κO complexes, a rare coordination mode for low‐valent germanium and inaccessible for the related neutral germylones.
