Riassunto: La recente pubblicazione in Italia della traduzione de La llegenda del llibreter assassi di Ramon Miquel i Planas offre lo spunto per un confronto con alcune precedenti traduzioni in castigliano e per una breve riflessione di metodo sulla traduzione. Le due versioni spagnole (1991 e 2011) si configurano infatti, a differenza di quella italiana, come libere rielaborazioni dell’originale dal momento che ne alterano la struttura, trasformando il testo e piegandolo a nuove finalita. Il presente articolo è dedicato al confronto tra l’uso del gerundio in italiano e spagnolo; a differenza di quanto si potrebbe pensare a prima vista, la loro corrispondenza formale non implica un identico uso sintattico. La divergenza principale è data dal gerundio predicativo, molto diffuso in spagnolo e agrammaticale in italiano, divergenza che è dovuta a una differente evoluzione sintattica risalente ai primi secoli delle lingue romanze. W swoim artykule prezentuję spektakl oparty na poemacie Tomasza Różyckiego - Opolanina, jednego z najważniejszych polskich poetów współczesnych. Dwanaście stacji przedstawia codzienność opolskiego Śląska - regionu, w którym kultura lokalna miesza się z niemiecką i kresową. Szczególnie w Opolu tekst okazuje się nośny, ponieważ dotyczy generacji przesiedleńców z Kresów, która wciąż tu pozostaje, żyjąc w pewnej izolacji. Utwór Różyckiego przedstawia dramat odejścia tej generacji. Starszyzna postanawia wyruszyć z powrotem na Kresy, choć jest to już tylko podróż mentalna. Abstract Understanding how and why rates of evolutionary diversification vary is a central issue in evolutionary biology and ecology. The concept of adaptive radiation has attracted much interest, but is metaphorical and verbal in nature, making it difficult to quantitatively compare different evolutionary lineages or geographic regions. PURPOSE: We present a case of transient global amnesia (TGA) onset in a 52-year-old male with a medical history of migraine. METHODS: Patient was taken to ER by his colleagues which reported that after an emotional stress he suddenly appeared perplexed and started asking repetitive questions. In ER a neurological examination excluded other neurological signs or symptoms and it was confirmed that cognitive impairment was limited to the amnesia domain; electroencephalography was unremarkable and he had no history of epileptic seizures or head trauma. Functionally-defined recurrent multi-word units in English-to-Polish translation

This study uses both parallel and comparable reference corpora in the English-Polish language pair to explore how translators deal with recurrent multi-word items performing specific discoursal functions.We also consider whether the observed tendencies overlap with those found in native texts,and the extent to which the discoursal functions realised by themulti-word items under scrutiny are “preserved” in translation.
