Abstract Against the background of growing aviation and protests against air traffic in many countries, we employ a factorial survey experiment to examine the social acceptance of airport expansion scenarios in two European cities located near the international airports of Frankfurt (Germany) and Zurich (Switzerland), respectively. Une orientation contrariée en fin de troisième a un impact sur les trajectoires ultérieures, comme l'obtention d'un emploi. Certes, le chômage est lié au niveau d'études, mais les descendants d'immigrés originaires du Maghreb ou d'Afrique subsaharienne y sont surexposés, mettant en relief une discrimination à l'embauche, discrimination vivement ressentie par les jeunes eux-mêmes.

In this paper, I try to identify the reasons why the dialogue between sociocultural anthropology and animal rights theories and movements continues to be difficult and scarce. At first sight this weakness of communication is surprising, if one looks at the amount of anthropological studies on human/animal relationships, in most cases pointing to how animals are considered in many cultures as non- human subjects or persons.
