Convenience Behavior and Being Overweight in Adults: Development and Validation of the Convenience Behavior Questionnaire

The etiology of overweight and obesity is a mixture of genetic determinants, environmental factors, and health behaviors. Especially intra- and interpersonal inactive behaviors, here termed convenience, seems to play an important role. The objective was to develop and validate the Convenience Behavior Questionnaire (CBQ) to assess convenience-related items and their association with overweight and obesity in a large population. A sample of 1233 subjects aged 18–82 years from six population groups took part in a self-administered questionnaire. Test-retest reliability was estimated and the independent association between convenience-related items and overweight and obesity was investigated. …

Cette étude analyse l’image de la femme dans les placards publicitaires des croisières. Ces images sont remarquables pour deux raisons. D’abord elles montrent les aspects socioculturels qui tournent autour de l’image féminine dans le tourisme en posant des réflexions épistémologiques sur le féminisme. Ensuite elles utilisent des stratégies sémiotiques et linguistiques qui jouent un rôle fondamental dans la mise en désir des destinations touristiques. From the first expository scene, The Winter’s Tale exhibits a concern with necessity, either through the use of the word itself, its derivatives (necessities, necessary), and their synonyms (needful, required) or through the notion of what “must” happen, what “cannot but” happen. The recurrence of such terms conveys a sense that this is a world where no one is free, and every action is dictated by force of circumstance. This is reinforced by the widespread use of the traditional imagery of fate. Yet the characters of the play are reluctant to submit to necessity.
