A systematic literature review on cyberstalking : An analysis of past achievements and future promises
2020
Individuals’ excessive use of technology-enabled communication platforms, such as social media, has led to scholarly recognition of rising incidences of cyberstalking. Despite considerable studies directed at its examination, the current research on cyberstalking is limited by a lack of clarity on its characterization and prevalence, coupled with a fragmented research focus. To address this limitation, a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) on cyberstalking has been undertaken. Rigorous protocols were applied to identify 49 empirical studies via Scopus and Web of Science, based on specific keywords and article selection criteria. Findings reveal four emergent research themes on characteristic…
Weakly interacting dark matter in walking technicolor theories
2010
Several lines of evidence support the existence of the dark matter in the Universe. In the light of the present observations the particle dark matter, and in particular the WIMP scenario is a very promising alternative to solve the dark matter problem. In this context recent minimal walking techicolor model motivated dark matter models have been studied. The minimal walking techinicolor and the minimal extension of it, which can successfully provide a dynamical origin for the electroweak symmetry breaking as well as the unification of the standard model coupling constants, gives rise to natural dark matter candidates such as fourth family heavy neutrinos and SU(2) adjoint matter. A general …
Hyper-reticulated calixarene polymers: a new example of entirely synthetic nanosponge materials
2018
New calixarene-based nanosponges (CaNSs), i.e., hyper-reticulated polymers constituted by calixarene monomer units joined by means of bis(1,2,3-trialzolyl)alkyl linkers, were synthesized, characterized and subjected to preliminary tests to assess their supramolecular absorption abilities towards a set of suitable organic guests, selected as pollutant models. The synthesis was accomplished by means of a CuAAC reaction between a tetrakis(propargyloxy)calix[4]arene and an alkyl diazide. The formation of the polymeric network was assessed by means of FTIR and 13C{1H} CP-MAS solid-state NMR techniques, whereas morphological characterization was provided by SEM microghaphy. The materials were pro…
A general diastereoselective synthesis of highly functionalized ferrocenyl ambiphiles enabled on a large scale by electrochemical purification
2017
International audience; A general synthesis of highly functionalized ferrocenes, which include (P,B)- and (N,B)-ambiphiles, has been developed at a multigram scale. Diastereoselective stepwise modification of di-tert-butylated ferrocenes included the unprecedented separation of electroactive species. Bulky alkyl groups on ferrocenes ensure planar chirality of ambiphiles and enforce closer proximity of antagonist Lewis functions.
Theoretical study of the regio- and stereoselectivity of the intramolecular Povarov reactions yielding 5H-chromeno[2,3-c] acridine derivatives
2016
The intramolecular Povarov (IMP) reactions involved in the synthesis of 5H-chromeno[2,3-c] acridine derivatives [Tetrahedron Lett., 2010, 51, 3071–3074] have been studied using density functional theory (DFT) methods. The studied IMP reaction is a domino process that comprises two consecutive reactions: (i) a BF3 Lewis acid catalysed intramolecular aza-Diels–Alder (IMADA) reaction of an alkene tethered chromene imine (ATCI) giving a formal [4 + 2] cycloadduct, and (ii) a 1,3-hydrogen shift yielding the final chromeno product. The possible regio-(fused/bridged) and stereo-(cis/trans) isomeric channels associated with the IMADA reaction were thoroughly investigated and analysed. The activatio…
Iron-catalyzed C(sp2)-C(sp3) cross-coupling at low catalyst loading
2019
The iron-catalyzed C(sp2)–C(sp3) cross-coupling provides a highly economical route to exceedingly valuable alkylated arenes that are widespread in medicinal chemistry and materials science. Herein, we report an operationally-simple protocol for the selective C(sp2)–C(sp3) iron-catalyzed cross-coupling of aryl chlorides with Grignard reagents at low catalyst loading. A broad range of electronically-varied aryl and heteroaryl chlorides underwent the cross-coupling using challenging alkyl organometallics possessing β-hydrogens with high efficiency up to 2000 TON. A notable feature of the protocol is the use of environmentally-friendly cyclic urea ligands. A series of guidelines to predict cros…
Relevance of the Electronegativity of Boron inη5-Coordinating Ligands: Regioselective Monoalkylation and Monoarylation in Cobaltabisdicarbollide[3,3′…
2003
Regioselective monoalkylation and monoarylation in cobaltabisdicarbollide clusters has been achieved starting from Cs[8-I-3,3'-Co(1,2-C 2 B 9 H 1 0 )(1',2'-C 2 B 9 H 1 1 )] by cross-coupling reactions between a B-I fragment andan appropriate Grignard reagent in the presence of a Pd catalyst and CuT. A considerable number of monoalkylated and monoarylated derivatives have been synthesized, which allowed study of the influence of boron in metallocene-type ligands and the effect of alkyl and aryl substituents on boron in boron anionic clusters. Experimental data from UV/ Vis spectroscopy, E 1 / 2 measurements, and X-ray diffraction analysis, and supported by EHMO and ab initio analyses, indica…
Reactivity of lithium β‑ketocarboxylates: the role of lithium salts
2017
Lithium beta-ketocarboxylates 1(COOLi), prepared by the reaction of lithium enolates 2(Li+) with carbon dioxide, readily decarboxylate in THF solution unless in the presence of lithium salts, in which case they are indefinitely stable at room temperature in inert atmosphere. The availability of stable THF solutions of lithium beta-ketocarboxylates 1(COOLi) in the absence of carbon dioxide allowed reactions to take place with nitrogen bases and alkyl halides 3 to give alpha-alkyl ketones 1(R) after acidic hydrolysis. The sequence thus represents the use of carbon dioxide as a removable directing group for the selective monoalkylation of lithium enolates 2(Li+). The roles of lithium salts in …
Supramolecular complexes formed by dimethoxypillar[5]arenes and imidazolium salts: A joint experimental and computational investigation
2017
To gain more insights into the factors acting on the stability of complexes formed by pillar[5]arenes, we investigated the interaction of dimethoxypillar[5]arene with some 1-(n-alkyl)-3-(9-anthracenylmethyl)-imidazolium based organic salts. In particular, we used salts differing in not only the anion nature ([Cl−], [BF4−], [NTf2−] and [SbF6−]) and alkyl chain length (butyl, octyl and dodecylimidazolium derivatives), but also the presence of a hydrogenated or fluorinated tail (octyl and perfluorooctylimidazolium derivatives). Host–guest systems were analysed in solution, solid state and gas phase, using a combined approach of different techniques like fluorescence, 1H NMR, ESI-MS, DSC and DF…
