Two-Step Synthesis of 2-Aminoindolizines from 2-Alkylpyridines

An efficient method for the synthesis of 2-aminoindolizines by the 5-exo-dig cyclization of 2-alkyl-1-(1-cyanoalkyl)pyridinium salts has been developed. These substrates were prepared by N-alkylation of 2-alkylpyridines with readily available cyanohydrin triflates. The method allows the introduction of various substituents at the 1-, 3-, 6-, 7-, and 8-positions and leaves no undesired acceptor groups in the products.

Am Beispiel von 35 Hydrazinderivaten wird die elektroreduktive Spaltung polarographisch und praparativ untersucht. Es wurde gefunden: 1) Beim mono-, tri- und tetrabenzoylierten Hydrazin 9, 11 bzw. 12 verschiebt sich das Potential proportional der Anzahl der Benzoylgruppen nach positiveren Werten. Beim symmetrischen 1,2-Dibenzoylhydrazin (10) wird das Halbstufenpotential E1/2 — bedingt durch H-Verbruckung und mesomere Stabilisierung — stark nach negativen Werten verschoben. — 2) Bei den cyclischen Hydrazinderivaten 14–16 werden die E1/2-Werte sowohl in Abhangigkeit von der Ringspaltung als auch durch cis-Fixierung der Benzoylgruppen noch zusatzlich nach positiveren Werten verlagert. — 3) Ube…

Um die Kinetik des oxidativen Abbaus nativer Cellulose viskosimetrisch verfolgen zu konnen, mussen neue [η]-M-Eichbeziehungen aufgestellt werden, da die Behandlung der Cellulose mit konzentriertem Alkali den Staudingerindex [η] erniedrigt, ohne das Molekulargewicht M zu verandern. Es wurden zwei Reihen oxidativ abgebauter, verschieden lange mit Alkali vorbehandelter Cellulosen hergestellt und an diesen die Konstanten der Kuhn-Mark-Houwink-Gleichung fur die Cellulosenitrate in Aceton und die Cellulosen in Cuoxam (Cu(NH3)4(OH)2) durch Vergleich mit Lichtstreuungsmessungen bestimmt. A Simple Organocatalytic Enantioselective Synthesis of Pregabalin

This paper describes a new procedure for the enantioselective synthesis of the important anticonvulsant drug Pregabalin, which shows biological properties as the (S) enantiomer only. The key step of the synthetic sequence is the Michael addition reaction of Meldrum's acid to a nitroalkene mediated by a quinidine derived thiourea. A variety of novel catalysts bearing different groups at the thiourea moiety were synthesized and tested. The most successful catalyst that incorporates a trityl substituent provided up to 75 % ee of (S)-4. Calix Crowns Derived from para-Bridged Calix[4]arenes

Two calix[4]arenes, bridged by aliphatic chains of five and eight carbon atoms spanning two opposite para positions, have been converted into their 1,3-crown ether derivatives by reaction with tetraethylene and pentaethylene glycol ditosylates. Of the two possible 1,3-crown derivatives, only the formation of those isomers is observed in which the phenolic units connected at the para positions are etherified. This has been established in one case by a single-crystal X-ray analysis. Preliminary results for the extraction of selected alkali and alkaline-earth metals are reported.

Summary By means of MNDO-PM3 semiempirical quantum-chemistry calculations, the mechanism for alkylation of toluene by methanol on two zeolite clusters with Al and Ga as T III has been studied. The process variables controlled through the hypersurface of the reaction were: the distances of methyl group to the cluster of zeolite and to the toluene molecule; and the distances of the hydrogen atom of the toluene to be transfered to the zeolite cluster and to the toluene. Wird natriumfreier p-Kresoldialkohol in Silber- oder Platingeraten bei 130°C kondensiert, so ist durch den Geruch kein Formaldehyd wahrnehmbar. p-Kresoldialkohol enthalt oft von seiner Darstellung uber das Natriumsalz her geringe Mengen an Natrium, dessen Anteil im Bereich von 0,0 bis 5,00/00 liegt (0,000 bis 0,037 Mol Natrium je Mol Phenolalkohol). Die bei der Hartung des p-Kresoldialkohols in Platin- oder Silbergeraten beobachteten Gewichtsverluste und die Formaldehydabspaltung sind umso hoher, je groser der Natriumgehalt ist.
