Lapsettomuutta kokeneiden tupakointi, alkoholinkäyttö ja paino Terveys 2011 tutkimuksessa

2017

TIIVISTELMÄ Vilanti, T. 2017. Lapsettomuutta kokeneiden tupakointi, alkoholinkäyttö ja paino Terveys 2011 tutkimuksessa. Liikuntatieteellinen tiedekunta, Jyväskylän yliopisto, Terveyskasvatuksen pro gradu -tutkielma Osa I 28 s., 2 liitettä. Osa II 19s. Tahaton lapsettomuus on yleistynyt sekä naisilla että miehillä niin Suomessa kuin maailmanlaajuisestikin. Monien elintapojen on todettu olevan yhteydessä hedelmällisyyteen.

Isolation, characterization and determination of biotechnological potential of oil-degrading bacteria from Algerian centre coast

2019

Aims The Algerian coastline is exposed to several types of pollution, including hydrocarbons. The aim of this work was to isolate oil-degrading bacteria and to explore the intrinsic bioremediation potential of part of its contaminated harbour. Methods and results A collection of 119 strains, capable to grow on mineral medium supplemented with hydrocarbons, were obtained from polluted sediment and seawater collected from Sidi Fredj harbour (Algiers). Twenty-three strains were selected for further studies. Sequencing of the 16S rRNA gene showed that most isolates belong to genera of hydrocarbonoclastic bacteria (Alcanivorax), generalist hydrocarbons degraders (Marinobacter, Pseudomonas, Gordo…

Study of lecithin reverse micelles by FT-IR spectroscopy

2007

FT-IR spectra of water/lecithin/deuterated cyclohexane microemulsions as a function of water/lecithin molar ratio R (R=[water]/[lecithin]) at various lecithin volume fractions (φ) have been recorded. After elimination of the spectral contributions due to the deuterated cyclohexane and normalization, the band parameters of the CO and PO4 vibrational modes due to lecithin have been found dependent only upon R. This behaviour has been interpreted in terms of a progressive structural modification of the water/lecithin interface superimposed to the progressive hydration of CO and PO4 groups. Moreover, no correlation between the CO and PO4 band parameters and the formation of gel-like micellar so…

New 2-Methoxy Acetylenic Acids and Pyrazole Alkaloids from the Marine Sponge Cinachyrella sp.

2017

Three new 2-methoxy acetylenic acids (1–3) and a known derivative (4), in addition to three new natural pyrazole alkaloids (5–7) were isolated from an Indonesian marine sponge of the genus Cinachyrella. Compounds 5 and 6 have previously been reported as synthetic compounds. The structures of the new compounds were established on the basis of one- and two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy as well as by mass spectrometric data. The absolute configuration of the new acetylenic acid derivatives (1–3) was established by ECD spectroscopy. All isolated compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxicity against L5178Y mouse lymphoma cells. Compounds 1–4 exhibited strong activity with an IC50 value of 0.3 µ…

Bioaccesibility of Cylindrospermopsin from cooked fish muscle after the application of an in vitro digestion model and its bioavailability.

2017

Humans can be exposed to cyanotoxins through the ingestion of contaminated water, food or beverages. In the present work, the bioaccesibility of Cylindrospermopsin (CYN), one of the most relevant cyanotoxins, was evaluated in a pure CYN solution and cooked CYN-contaminated fish muscles (20 μg/mL). An in vitro digestion model including the salivar, gastric, duodenal and colonic phases was performed, being each fraction analyzed by HPLC-MS-MS to evaluate CYN degradation. Moreover, Caco-2/TC7 cells were exposed to the digested duodenal and colonic phases to elucidate the final bioavailability of CYN in an approximation to the real human exposure scenario. The results revealed that CYN bioacces…

Involvement of an Alkane Hydroxylase System of Gordonia sp. Strain SoCg in Degradation of Solid n-Alkanes▿

2010

ABSTRACT Enzymes involved in oxidation of long-chain n -alkanes are still not well known, especially those in Gram-positive bacteria. This work describes the alkane degradation system of the n -alkane degrader actinobacterium Gordonia sp. strain SoCg, which is able to grow on n -alkanes from dodecane (C 12 ) to hexatriacontane (C 36 ) as the sole C source. SoCg harbors in its chromosome a single alk locus carrying six open reading frames (ORFs), which shows 78 to 79% identity with the alkane hydroxylase (AH)-encoding systems of other alkane-degrading actinobacteria. Quantitative reverse transcription-PCR showed that the genes encoding AlkB (alkane 1-monooxygenase), RubA3 (rubredoxin), RubA4…

Isolation of Gram-positive n-alkane degraders from a hydrocarbon-contaminated Mediterranean shoreline.

2007

Aims: To investigate the petroleum hydrocarbon (HC)-degrading potential of indigenous micro-organisms in a sandy Mediterranean coast, accidentally contaminated with petroleum-derived HCs. Methods and Results: Using culturable methods, a population of Gram-positive n-alkane degraders was detected in the contaminated soil. Five isolates, identified as one Nocardia, two Rhodococcus and two Gordonia strains, were able to degrade medium- and long-chain n-alkanes up to C36 as assessed by growth assays and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis. Diverging alkane hydroxylase-encoding genes (alkB) were detected by PCR, using degenerated primers, in all the strains; multiple sequences were obt…

The Effects of Different Formulation of Baking Powder on Short Biscuits Characteristics

2011

Chemical leaveners are used to give cookies, cakes, and other baked goods their characteristic textures. They produce gas when a carbon dioxide source and an acid are mixed together and come into contact with water. The most common sources of gas are sodium or potassium bicarbonate alone or in combination with ammonium bicarbonate. A great variety of acids are used in baking powder formulations. The acid are classified according to their capacity to react at lower or elevated temperature as rapid or slow acting. The aim of these study is to evaluate a very rapid acting acid (tartaric acid) and a slow to very slow acting acid (sodium acid pyrophosphate - SAPP) on the characteristics of short…
