Solvent extraction studies of uranium(VI) from phosphoric acid: Role of synergistic reagents in mixture with bis(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid
2014
Abstract The extraction of uranium(VI) from 5.3 mol·L − 1 H 3 PO 4 (a typical concentration of wet phosphoric acid) with a series of neutral organosphosphorus synergistic reagents (0.125–0.250 mol·L − 1 ) used in mixture with 0.5 mol·L − 1 bis(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) in Isane IP 185 (a 100% isoparaffinic aliphatic diluent) has been investigated. The series of synergistic reagents includes tri- n -butyl phosphate (TBP), di- n -butyl n -butyl phosphonate (DBBP), n -butyl di- n -butyl phosphinate (BDBP), tri- n -butyl phosphine oxide (TBPO), tri- n -hexyl phosphine oxide (THPO), tri- n -octyl phosphine oxide (TOPO), tri- n -decyl phosphine oxide (TDPO), di- n -hexyl n -decyl pho…
A modified guanosine phosphoramidite for click functionalization of RNA on the sugar edge
2012
A propargyl containing guanosine phosphoramidite was synthesized and incorporated into siRNA, enabling click-ligation with an azido fluorophore onto the nucleobase sugar edge. Duplex stability was not affected by labeling at this new site, which allowed deconvolution of the effects of label, structure and attachment site on RNAi activity.
Influences of Structure and Composition on the Photoelectrochemical Behaviour of Anodic Films on Zr and Zr-20at.%Ti
2008
Abstract A photoelectrochemical investigation on anodic films of different thickness grown on sputter-deposited Zr and Zr–20 at.%Ti was carried out. The estimated optical band gap and flat band potential of thick ( U F ≥ 50 V) anodic films were related to their crystalline structure and compared with those obtained for thinner ( U F ≤ 8 V/SCE) anodic oxides having undetermined crystalline structure. The E g values obtained by photocurrent spectroscopy were also compared with the experimental band gap estimated by other optical ex situ techniques and with the available theoretical estimates of the zirconia electronic structures in an attempt to reconcile the wide range of band gap data rep…
Photoelectrochemical evidence of Nitrogen Incorporation during Anodizing of Sputtering-Deposited Al-Ta alloys
2016
Anodic films were grown to 20 V on sputtering-deposited Al–Ta alloys in ammonium biborate and borate buffer solutions. According to glow discharge optical emission spectroscopy, anodizing in ammonium containing solution leads to the formation of N containing anodic layers. Impedance measurements did not evidence significant differences between the dielectric properties of the anodic films as a function of the anodizing electrolyte. Photoelectrochemical investigation allowed evidencing that N incorporation induces a red-shift in the light absorption threshold of the films due to the formation of allowed localized states inside their mobility gap. The estimated Fowler threshold for the intern…
Photoelectrochemical evidence of Nitrogen Incorporation during Anodizing of valve metals alloys
2015
Amorphous and/or nanocrystalline oxide films can be easily prepared electrochemically by anodizing. The anodizing allows to grow oxides with structural and compositional features easily and strictly controlled by the process parameters.
Pyrene-benzoylthiophene Bichromophores as Selective Triplet Photosensitizers.
2006
Combination of the pyrene and benzoylthiophene units constitutes an interesting approach to design bichromophoric photosensitizers with increased intersystem crossing quantum yield and enhanced selectivity. The potential of this strategy has been illustrated in the present work by using a model photoisomerization reaction.
Optical study of GeO2–PbO–PbF2 oxyfluoride glass singly doped with Pr3+, Nd3+, Sm3+ and Eu3+
2005
Abstract Glasses with composition 50GeO 2 –(50 − x )PbO–5PbF 2 – x LnF 3 (Ln = Pr 3+ , Nd 3+ , Sm 3+ , Eu 3+ ) were synthesised in the bulk form. The content of PbF 2 was constant and amounted to 5 mol% whereas, the concentration of luminescent ions was 0.2 and 2 mol%. Spectroscopic properties (absorption, emission) of optically active ions were studied at room temperature. Oscillator strengths have been used to calculate phenomenological intensity parameters Ω 2,4,6 . Radiative transition probabilities as well as branching ratios and radiative lifetimes of luminescent levels were estimated. Lifetimes and the fluorescence dynamics were studied as a function of concentration. The Judd–Ofelt…
Photoluminescence immunosensor based on bovine leukemia virus proteins immobilized on the ZnO nanorods
2019
Bovine leukaemia virus (BLV) proteins gp51, which are serving as antigens for specific antibodies against BLV proteins (anti-gp51), were applied as biological recognition part in the design of immunosensor devoted for the determination of anti-gp51. The efficiency of the immobilization of BLV proteins gp51 on ZnO nanorod (ZnO- NR) modified glass (ZnO-NR/glass) surface was evaluated. The formation of antigen-antibody complex on the ZnO/glass modified by the BLV proteins gp51 (gp51/ZnO-NR/glass) was investigated by the determination of changes in ZnO photoluminescence. The applicability of gp51/ZnO-NR/glass in the design of photoluminescence based immunosensor was evaluated. Bovine serum albu…
Optical properties of thin films of ZnO prepared by pulsed laser deposition
2004
In this paper we report on the structural features and optical properties of wurtzite ZnO films epitaxially grown on sapphire, fluorite and mica substrates by means of pulsed laser deposition (PLD). Post-deposition annealing results in a clear improvement of the film quality, reflected by the small width of the exciton-related lines in both the absorption and the photoluminescence spectra. Photoluminescence spectra revealed a multi-line structure which is identified in term of free excitons and excitons complexes with neutral donors and deep centers. The relative intensity of the PL lines mainly depends on the nature of the substrate used. Concerning optoelectronic applications it is especi…
Photoluminescent hybrid nanomaterials from modified halloysite nanotubes
2018
The synthesis of photoluminescent nanomaterials based on halloysite nanotubes is described. The obtained hybrid was characterized by means of TGA, FT-IR, DLS and XPS measurements; in addition its morphology was imaged by TEM and HR-TEM. The HNT hybrid also exhibited photoluminescent properties, both in solution and in the solid state, and white-light emission (0.24, 0.36; CIE coordinates) was observed. This work could be pioneering as a new strategy for manufacturing both LEDs and fluorescent tags based on HNT nanomaterials. © 2018 The Royal Society of Chemistry.
