Backoff Hardware Architecture for Inter-FPGA Traffic Management
2017
International audience; Multi-FPGA platforms are considered to be the mostappropriate experimental way to emulate a large Multi-ProcessorSystem-on-Chip based on a Network-on-Chip. However, theuse of a Network-on-Chip in several FPGAs requires inter-FPGA communication links to replace intra-FPGA links betweenrouters. As the ratio of the logic capacity to the number of IOsonly increases slowly with each generation of FPGA, IOs inFPGA are becoming a scare resource. And as there are morerouters than IOs, using a Network-on-Chip requires sharinginter-FPGA links between routers, and sharing an external linkcan lead to bottlenecks. Here, we evaluate the inter-FPGA trafficmanagement using a backoff…
Considerations on correlations in shift-register pseudorandom number generators and their removal
1997
Abstract We present a simple calculation quantitatively explaining the triplet correlations in the popular shift-register random number generator “R250”, which were recently observed numerically by Schmid and Wilding, and are known from general analysis of this type of generator. Starting from these considerations, we discuss various methods to remove these correlations by combining different shift-register generators. We implement and test a particularly simple and fast version, based on an XOR combination of two independent shift-register generators with different time lags. The results indicate that this generator has much better statistical properties than R250, while being only a facto…
Dynamic Test Methods for COTS SRAMs
2014
International audience; In previous works, we have demonstrated the importance of dynamic mode testing of SRAM components under ionizing radiation. Several types of failures are difficult to expose when the device is tested under static (retention) mode. With the purpose of exploring and defining the most complete testing procedures and reveal the potential hazardous behaviors of SRAM devices, we present novel methods for the dynamic mode radiation testing of SRAMs. The proposed methods are based on different word address accessing schemes and data background: Fast Row, Fast Column, Pseudorandom, Adjacent (Gray) and Inverse Adjacent (Gray). These methods are evaluated by heavy ion and atmos…
PSYCHOMOTOR EXPRESSION AND PERSONALITY STUDY: I. Some theoretical and methodological considerations
1963
In this introductory article in a series of experimental reports an attempt is made to classify the psychomotor and expressive techniques on the basis of the amount and the quality of mediating processes involved in performance. Furthermore, psychomotor variables occurring in different types of technique are presented, and suggestions are made for an experimental study of psychomotor and expressive techniques.
PSYCHOMOTOR EXPRESSION AND PERSONALITY STUDY.
1964
The main purpose was to examine whether ratings of the ‘natural speed of behaviour’ are related to factors of ‘personal tempo’ found by common types of tempo tests. Psychomotor performance of varying levels of complexity was studied. In addition to standard tempo tasks, tests of maximum tempo were used. There were significant positive correlations between the ratings of the ‘natural speed’ and the tests of personal tempo, especially in ideomotor and drawing tasks, in subjects aged 13 to 14 years. In younger age groups the correlations were low. An attempt is made to interpret the results in terms of ‘working habits’.

Privacy Preserving Client/Vertical-Servers Classification
2019
We present a novel client/vertical-servers architecture for hybrid multi-party classification problem. The model consists of clients whose attributes are distributed on multiple servers and remain secret during training and testing. Our solution builds privacy-preserving random forests and completes them with a special private set intersection protocol that provides a central commodity server with anonymous conditional statistics. Subsequently, the private set intersection protocol can be used to privately classify the queries of new clients using the commodity server’s statistics. The proviso is that the commodity server must not collude with other parties. In cases where this restriction …
New evidence in one-lung ventilation
2017
Mechanical ventilation in thoracic surgery has undergone significant changes in recent years due to the implementation of the protective ventilation. This review will analyze recent ventilatory strategies in one-lung ventilation. A MEDLINE research was performed using Mesh term "One-Lung Ventilation" including randomized clinical trials, metanalysis, reviews and systematic reviews published in the last 6 years. Search was performed on 21st March 2017. A total of 75 articles were initially found. After title and abstract review 14 articles were included. Protective ventilation is not simply synonymous of low tidal volume ventilation, but it also includes routine use of PEEP and alveolar recr…
