The Russian State Archives of Historical Records in Moscow (Российский государственный архив древних актор) contains a group No. 1587, which the institutions resource list calls ‘Collection of Autographs Gathered by Princes Żagań.’ The article describes the history of the library of the dukes of Żagań in the 19th century, including the creation of a collection of manuscripts. This collection is of a particular importance as a testimony to the finał years of the Duchy of Courland and Semigalia and the extensive family ties of the princes of Żagań. Il lavoro si pone come obiettivo la ricostruzione congetturale del progetto dell’Eden Teatro Biondo (1912) a Palermo di Ernesto Basile (Palermo 1857–1932) a partire dai disegni originari. L’edifico propone una tipologia che fonde cinematografo (al piano terra) e teatro (al piano superiore). Pensato su un fronte di Piazza Verdi, non sarà realizzato per i costi ritenuti troppo elevati dai committenti. Le scansioni dei disegni originari (conservati presso il Fondo Basile del Dipartimento di Architettura dell’Università di Palermo) hanno consentito la vettorializzazione piana utilizzata per l’analisi e per la modellazione 3D. International audience; Background: Ecological indicator values (EIVs) have a long tradition in vegetation ecological research in Europe. EIVs characterise the ecological optimum of species along major environmental gradients using ordinal scales. Calculating mean indicator values per plot is an effective way of bioindication. The competition for the Palazzo di Giustizia in Rome takes place in four phases that develop between 1884 and 1887. The project of the third competition (1886-1887), drawn up by Ernesto Basile (Palermo 1857-1932), reveals a great maturity design that transforms the complex functional program into a rigorous neo-Renaissance style building. The jury recognizes the quality of the project and selects it for the final phase by invitation (1887) together with that one of Guglielmo Calderini, who will be the winner. Except for a few gaps, the Basile's archive is one of the best maintained contemporary architectural archives in Europe. Basile wrote extensively about his travels and discussed their context and significance. The documents range from reports on the World Exhibition in Paris in 1878, to stories of Ortensio Lando, the sixteenth-century Italian humanist and traveler, who moved "from the far Sicily to the edge of the Alps".

Complementary XAFS measurements (LURE and NSLS) of Se 1 - x Te x glasses have been carried out on both the Se and Te K-edges at low and room temperatures. Using a multi-shell best fit analysis procedure, we have reconstructed the Se and Te local environment: (i) first shell intrachain nearest neighbors (Se-Se 1 , Se-Te 1 , Te-Se 1 ,and Te-Te 1 ); (ii) second shell intrachain (Se-Se 2 and Se-Te 2 ) and interchain next nearest neighbors (Se⇔Se 3 single scattering in the chains Se-Se 1 -Se 3 and Se-Te 1 -Se 3 ). This research is focused on the evaluation of the reliability of regional landslide susceptibility models obtained by exploiting inhomogeneous (for quality, resolution and/or triggering related type and intensity) collected inventories for calibration. At a large-scale glance, merging more inventories can result in well-performing models hiding potential strong predictive deficiencies.
