Otite media atelettasica, adesiva, timpanosclerotica: update medico e chirurgico
2011
Otitis media secretive is one of the most common ear diseases characterized by frequent sequelae and complications; in particular the authors describe middle ear atelectasis with pocket retraction of tympanic membrane, pocket retraction limited to pars tensa or to pars flaccida, adhesive otitis media, partial or total myringosclerosis and tympanosclerosis. For each disease the Authors comment the best surgical approaches to preserve and restore conductive hearing loss. As for middle ear atelectasis, adhesive otitis media, myringosclerosis and partial tympanosclerosis it was evidenced a significant hearing gain while in total tympanosclerosis there was an initial hearing improvement in a sho…
Metabolic abnormalities associated with initiation of systemic treatment for psoriasis: evidence from the Italian Psocare Registry
2013
Objective To evaluate variations in laboratory parameters and diagnoses of selected clinical conditions up to 16 weeks after starting a new systemic psoriasis treatment for Psocare Registry enrollees. Design Prospective cohort study. Setting Italian public referral centres for psoriasis treatment. Patients First-time recipients (n = 10,539) of continuous systemic psoriasis treatment for at least 16 weeks. Main outcome measure Mean variations in (weeks 8 and 16) and proportions of patients reaching a clinically meaningful increase in serum levels (week 16) of total and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, triglycerides, aspartate amino transferase, alanine amino transferase and creatinine, a…

Bronchiectasis In Metaphyseal Acroscyphodysplasia With Cone-Shaped Epiphyses (Bellini Disease): A Five Years Follow Up
2013
We present an adolescent with Metaphyseal acroscyphodysplasia (Bellini disease), characterized by severe short stature with accelerated bone maturation, micromelia predominating in the lower limbs, knee flexion, severe brachydactyly, very short hands and feet, metaphyseal changes and specific radiologic features, cup-shaped distal femoral metaphysis with cone-shaped epiphyses, short hands and feet, dental malocclusion. She presented chronic respiratory infections, with secondary bronchiectasis in the course of the follow up. This is the first case reported in literature of a patient with this extremely rare metaphyseal dysplasia, the Bellini disease, associated with bronchiectasis.
I TUMORI A CELLULE GERMINALI IN ETA' PEDIATRICA
1994

2016
The article tends to represent the power of the words in the greek polis, how the dialogue makes equal man to live in public space, and how this produces a seeming quiet only. On the other hand, Platon's perspective oulines a vertical power specifically with the aim to cancel every kind of conflict.

Incoherent dispersive shocks in the spectral evolution of random waves
2013
We predict theoretically and numerically the existence of incoherent dispersive shock waves. They manifest themselves as an unstable singular behavior of the spectrum of incoherent waves that evolve in a noninstantaneous nonlinear environment. This phenomenon of "spectral wave breaking" develops in the weakly nonlinear regime of the random wave. We elaborate a general theoretical formulation of these incoherent objects on the basis of a weakly nonlinear statistical approach: a family of singular integro-differential kinetic equations is derived, which provides a detailed deterministic description of the incoherent dispersive shock wave phenomenon.
Electromagnetically generated extracorporeal shock waves for gallstone lithotripsy: in vitro experiments and clinical relevance.
1989
. First generation shock wave sources have been proved to disintegrate gallstones effectively, but they require the immersion of the patient's body in a tank of water. A recently developed second generation shock wave source (Siemens-Lithostar, Erlangen, FRG) generates shock waves electromagnetically. It presents several novel features. In particular the waterbath can be omitted and due to lower shock wave pressure general anaesthesia is not required. In vitro studies showed that 36 out of 38 gallstones (11–30 mm in diameter) could be disintegrated. Two concrements resisting lithotripsy were pure white cholesterol stones. Independent of shape, size, and composition (cholesterol or pigment) …
