Abstract Summary In this longitudinal study, with a follow-up of 8 years, multidimensional prognostic index (MPI), a product of the comprehensive geriatric assessment, significantly predicted the onset of fractures in older people affected by knee osteoarthritis. Supporting student teachers’ reflection through assessment : The case of reflective podcasts

Reflection is a key learning objective of teacher education, yet little is known about the ways in which it could be supported through assessment. In this case study (N = 14), we examine the potential of a novel assessment task—reflective podcasting—in supporting first-year student teachers’ reflection. We analyzed student group podcasts and corresponding student reflections and found that the task engendered reflection. Three theory-driven dimensions were constructed to emphasize the unique nature of podcasts for student reflection: experientiality, authenticity, and communality. Research about metacognition and its implications for learning and instruction have become a central issue in education. The call for teaching metacognitive skills is considered one of the main implications for instruction that has emerged from over three decades of research about how people learn. Abstract There is a large gap in knowledge regarding research on post-exercise blood changes in disabled athletes. There are relatively few data on adaptive mechanisms to exercise in disabled athletes, including disabled rowers. Two rowers from a Polish adaptive rowing settle TAMix2x that qualified for the Paralympic Games in Rio, 2016 took part in this study. They performed a progressive test on a rowing ergometer until exhaustion.
