DNA barcoding the phyllosoma of Scyllarides squammosus (H. Milne Edwards, 1837) (Decapoda: Achelata: Scyllaridae)

Scyllarides has the largest number of species with commercial importance within the Scyllaridae family. As for other achelate lobsters, however, little is known of the unique long-lived planktonic phyllosoma stages of any of these tropical and temperate species. Recently, a large and diverse collection of Scyllaridae phyllosoma, compiled from cruises along the Coral Sea and spanning several years, has been analysed. Effect of acyl-CoA oxidase activity on the accumulation of gamma-decalactone by the yeast Yarrowia lipolytica: a factorial approach.

International audience; beta-Oxidation is a cyclic pathway involved in the degradation of lipids. In yeast, it occurs in peroxisomes and the first step is catalyzed by an acyl-CoA oxidase (Aoxp). The yeast Yarrowia lipolytica possesses several genes (POX) coding for Aoxps. This study is based on the factorial analysis of results obtained with the many POX derivative strains that have been constructed previously. The effect of interactions between Aoxps on the acyl-CoA oxidase (Aox) activity was important even at the second order. Abstract Three groups of male Sprague-Dawley rats were fed for 4 weeks purified diets containing 15% by weight of oil mixtures varying in the nature and content of (n-3) polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) but supplying similar levels of 18:2 (n-6) (10% of the total dietary fatty acids) and of saturated fatty acids (19% of the total fatty acids). Molecular basis of the effects of argan oil on mitochondrial and peroxisomal metabolism of the fatty acids and inflammation

The objective of this thesis work was to explore the molecular basis of Argan Oil (AO) effects on the mitochondrial and peroxisomal lipid metabolism and to elucidate its anti-inflammatory potential. We thus showed, initially, that the artisanal method preparation preserved the antioxidant properties of AO preventing the oxidation of the ferulic acid, by contrast to AO of commercial origin. Apart from the established association between liking for fat and fat intake, little is known about the association between liking for fat and intake of specific nutrients or food groups. We investigated the association between dietary intake and liking for fat, fat-and-sweet and fat-and-salt.
