Colonie, Imperi e Migrazioni. Un inquadramento postcoloniale dell'Europa multiculturale

The article considers the multicultural roots of the European Union from a postcolonial perspective. Therefore, European history is outlined from colonialism to imperialism, concluding with recent regulations on international migration. The etymology of the terms colony and culture, both derived from the Latin verb colĕre (to cultivate), is the link that connects these themes, highlighting a conception of the relationship between Europeans and the otherness based on exploitation and domination. Through this view, differential colonialism merges with social self representation (antropopoiesi) inherent in the concepts of culture and education and already disclosed by the Greek paideia.

This dissertation studies the issue of disposal in Finnish art museums. It is a research in the field of museology, in which museography plays a significant role. The field of museology functions as a science bridging theory and practice. In the research, museum collection management is divided into seven areas: acquisition, inventory, condition assessment, value assessment, conservation, upkeep and disposal. It is essential that collection management be viewed as a unified chain of operations, starting from acquisition and ending in disposal. Lahden taidemuseo perustettiin Viipurin taidemuseosta saatujen teosten ympärille vuonna 1950. Taidemuseo sijoitettiin väliaikaisesti teknillisen virastotalon kuudenteen kerrokseen. Kaupunkiin oli suunnitteilla kulttuurilaitosten yhteisrakennus, jonka yhteyteen myös taidemuseo ajateltiin sijoittaa. Yhteishanke jäi toteutumatta ja taidemuseon väliaikaiseksi tarkoitetusta sijainnista tulikin pitkäaikainen. Useat toimijat ovat ponnistelleet taidemuseon tilarealiteettien parantamiseksi.
