Exploring the Interplay Between Ligand Derivatisation and Cation Type in the Assembly of Hybrid Polyoxometalate Mn-Andersons

2012

Herein a library of hybrid Mn-Anderson polyoxometalates anions are presented: 1, [(MnMo6 O18 )((OCH2 )3 -C-(CH2 )7 CHCH2 )2 ](3-) ; compound 2, [(MnMo6 O18 )((OCH2 )3 C-NHCH2 C16 H9 )2 ](3-) ; compound 3, [(MnMo6 O18 )((OCH2 )3 C-(CH2 )7 CHCH2 )1 ((OCH2 )3 C-NHCH2 C16 H9 )1 ](3-) ; compound 4, [(MnMo6 O18 )((OCH2 )3 C-NHC(O)CH2 CHCH2 )2 ](3-) and compounds 5-9, [(MnMo6 O18 )((OCH2 )3 C-NHC(O)(CH2 )x CH3 )2 ]), where x = 4, 10, 12, 14, and 18 respectively. The compounds resulting from the cation exchange of the anions 1-9 to give TBA (a) and DMDOA (b) salts, and additionally for compounds 1, 2 and 3, tetraphenylphosphonium (PPh4 ) (c) salts, are explored at the air/water interface using scan…

How hexoses and inhibitors influence the malate transport system in Zygosaccharomyces bailii

1988

When grown in fructose or glucose the cells of Zygosaccharomyces bailii were physiologically different. Only the glucose grown cells (glucose cells) possessed an additional transport system for glucose and malate. Experiments with transport mutants had lead to the assumption that malate and glucose were transported by one carrier, but further experiments proved the existence of two separate carrier systems. Glucose was taken up by carriers with high and low affinity. Malate was only transported by an uptake system and it was not liberated by starved malate-loaded cells, probably due to the low affinity of the intracellular anion to the carrier. The uptake of malate was inhibited by fructose…

Supravital Uptake of Methylene Blue by Dendritic Cells within Stratified Squamous Epithelia: a Light and Electron Microscope Study

1996

Electron microscopic data on methylene blue staining of dendritic cells in the epithelia of the soft palate and skin of the mouse after supravital dye injection are presented. The ultra-structural details were compared with corresponding light microscopic findings. Methylene blue stained tissue was fixed by immersion in a paraformaldehyde-glutaraldehyde solution containing phosphomolybdic acid. The ensuing dye precipitate was stabilized by ammonium heptamolybdate. The light microscopic investigation revealed that selective staining of dendritic cells depended on the presence of ambient oxygen. In addition, delicate morphological characteristics, like spinous structures of the dendrites, wer…

Chromium(III) complexes with 2-(2′-pyridyl)imidazole: Synthesis, crystal structure and magnetic properties

2011

Abstract The preparation, crystal structure and variable temperature-magnetic investigation of three 2-(2′-pyridyl)imidazole-containing chromium(III) complexes of formula PPh4[Cr(pyim)(C2O4)2]·H2O (1), AsPh4[Cr(pyim)(C2O4)2]·H2O (2) and [Cr2(pyim)2(C2O4)2(OH2)2]·2pyim · 6H2O (3) [pyim = 2-(2′-pyridyl)imidazole, C 2 O 4 2 - = dianion of oxalic acid , PPh 4 + = tetraphenylphosphonium cation and AsPh 4 + = tetraphenylarsonium cation ] are reported herein. The isomorphous compounds are made up of discrete [Cr(pyim)(C2O4)2]− anions, XPh 4 + cations [X = P (1) and As (2)] and uncoordinated water molecules. The chromium environment in 1 and 2 is distorted octahedral with Cr–N and Cr–O bond distanc…

Bio-based 1,3-diisobutyl imidazolium hydrogen oxalate [iBu 2 IM](HC 2 O 4 ) as CO 2 shuttle

2017

International audience; This manuscript describes the using of biosourced L-valine, oxalic acid and glyoxal to produce a biobased imidazolium hydrogen oxalate [iBu(2)IM](HC2O4) which is converted to its related hydrogen carbonate salt by a simple electrolysis without using strong base. The addition of weak protic acids to the latter compound leads to a rapid and quantitative CO2 release with formation of the starting hydrogen oxalate salt or a new halide free bio-based ionic liquid [iBu(2)IM](AcO) which is able to adsorb reversibly the CO2 at room temperature. The protonation reactions, combined with electrolysis, could then be a promising alternative solution for storage and transport of C…

Characterization of a new, nonpathogenic mutant of Botrytis cinerea with impaired plant colonization capacity.

2006

International audience; Botrytis cinerea is a necrotrophic pathogen that attacks more than 200 plant species. Here, the nonpathogenic mutant A336, obtained via insertional mutagenesis, was characterized.Mutant A336 was nonpathogenic on leaves and fruits, on intact and wounded tissue, while still able to penetrate the host plant. It grew normally in vitro on rich media but its conidiation pattern was altered. The mutant did not produce oxalic acid and exhibited a modified regulation of the production of some secreted proteins (acid protease 1 and endopolygalacturonase 1). Culture filtrates of the mutant triggered an important oxidative burst in grapevine ( Vitis vinifera ) suspension cells, a…

Metal complexes of anxiolitic drugs. X-Ray crystal structure and electronic properties of aquobromazepam(oxalato O1 O2) copper(II)

1987

The crystal structure of the title compound has been determined from single-crystal x-ray diffraction data. The copper(II) ion is surrounded by two nitrogen atoms of the bromazepam** molecule [N(imine) and N(pyridine)], and two oxygen atoms of the oxalate ion in a square planar arrangement. One molecule of water is linked to the copper(II) ion in the axial position. The complex has been also characterized by electronic, e.s.r. and i.r. spectra.

Regiochemistry of [4 + 2] Cycloadditions with Methylpyrano[3,4–b]indol-3-ones and Unsymmetric Dieno…
