Our aim is to compare three possible and different perceptions of the agricultural landscape of Hellenistic and Roman Sicily: the "cadrastal" landscape as shown in the Tables of Halaisa, the literary landscape, as evidenced by sources as the poetry of Theocritus, and the landscape reconstructed through archaeological surveys (landscape archaeology). The studies of Sicilian ancient landscapes, the histories of sites, towns and marks of antiquity, have necessarily to trace back to Tommaso Fazello’s book. Before him, nobody else had offered such a detailed depiction of ancient Sicily, and the methodology of his research is still very authentic. In addition to describing the ruins of ancient cities and identifying them (Selinunte is for instance a very special case), one could affirm that Fazello’s interest was also in the natural characterization and transformation of both rural and urban landscapes. Este trabajo pretende, en primer lugar, cuestionar extendidas concepciones de la tecnología que la presentan como mera aplicación de los conocimientos científicos y que están contribuyendo a una imagen distorsionada y empobrecida de la naturaleza de la ciencia y la tecnología y, consecuentemente, al desinterés e incluso rechazo hacia su estudio. En segundo lugar se presentan los resultados de una investigación cuyo objetivo es analizar en qué medida dichas concepciones afectan incluso al profesorado encargado de la alfabetización tecnológica. Finalmente se aborda la transformación de dichas concepciones.

In the second half of the second century BC, in the wake of the building renovation that affected the most important urban centers of northern Sicily, even the ancient city of Alesa Arconidea remodeled its monumental structure. The agora/forum, in particular, was restructured in a scenographic system, acquiring the architectural characteristics of a typical Hellenistic monumental complex, similar to those of Greece and Asia Minor, by which it was influenced. The "Historia de la doncella Teodor" in Burgos’ Printing Press: Regarding a New Edition from Juan de Junta’s Workshop, c. 1535-1540

En este trabajo se da noticia y se lleva a cabo el estudio tipobibliográfico de una edición sine notis de la Historia de la doncella Teodor. El análisis permite identificar la impresión en Burgos en el taller de Juan de Junta, c. 1535-1540. El rasgo material que singulariza este impreso es que la última hoja del primer cuaderno ha sido remedada por una copia manuscrita que no solo reproduce la tipografía original, sino también, a plumilla, las estampas. El estudio textual e iconográfico nos permitirá identificar la fuente del folio contrahecho.

This paper describes the results of a landscape archaeological research, focused on the ancient territory of Alesa, city of Hellenistic and Roman period located near the North coast of Sicily. The aim of the research is to analyze the problems of settlement and rural population of Alesa hinterland, and also to detect human activities and to perceive settlement strategies and resource exploitation tactics by the local communities in a long-term perspective (from prehistory to late-roman/early byzantine periods).
