Enantioselective Palladium-Catalyzed Oxidative β,β-Fluoroarylation of α,β-Unsaturated Carbonyl Derivatives

2016

© 2016 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim The site-selective palladium-catalyzed three-component coupling of deactivated alkenes, arylboronic acids, and N-fluorobenzenesulfonimide is disclosed herein. The developed methodology establishes a general, modular, and step-economical approach to the stereoselective β-fluorination of α,β-unsaturated systems.

Iodofluorination of alkenes and alkynes promoted by iodine and 4-iodotoluene difluoride

2006

It was found that a mixt. of mol. iodine and 4-iodotoluene difluoride are useful to generate in situ the electrophilic iodine/nucleophilic fluorine (IF) couple that was able to add in a Markovnikov fashion and with prevalent anti-stereoselectivity to various alkenes and alkynes.

Stabilization of ZSM-5 zeolite catalysts for steam catalytic cracking of naphtha for production of propene and ethene

2012

In order to increase ethene and propene, naphtha steam catalytic cracking has been considered. The cracking of C 5-C 12 n-alkanes with ZSM-5 has been studied in absence and in presence of steam and the influence of the operation variables was studied. Irreversible catalyst deactivation by dealumination also occurs in the reactor when the cracking is carried out in the presence of steam. To diminish steam deactivation, the influence of zeolite Si/Al framework and a postsynthesis treatment by phosphorous have been studied and optimized. Much more stable catalyst can be achieved that result in an increase in activity without penalty for production of ethene and propene.

Preferential azido bridging regulating the structural aspects in cobalt(III) and copper(II)–Schiff base complexes: Syntheses, magnetostructural corre…

2011

International audience; A tridentate NNO donor Schiff base ligand [(1Z,3E)-3-((pyridin-2-yl)methylimino)-1-phenylbut-1-en-1-ol = LH] in presence of azide ions coordinates with cobalt(II) and copper(II) ions giving rise to three new coordination complexes [Co2(L)2(μ1,1-N3)2(N3)2] (1), [Cu2(L)2(μ1,3-N3)]·ClO4 (2) and [(μ1,1-N3)2Cu5(μ-OL)2(μ1,1-N3)4(μ1,1,1-N3)2]n (3). The complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV–Vis spectral studies, and single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. These complexes demonstrate that under different synthetic conditions the azide ions and the Schiff base ligand (LH) show different coordination modes with cobalt(II) and copper(II) ions, givi…

Weak Interactions Modulating the Dimensionality in Supramolecular Architectures in Three New Nickel(II)-Hydrazone Complexes, Magnetostructural Correl…

2011

Three different ONO donor acetyl hydrazone Schiff bases have been synthesized from the condensation of acetic hydrazide with three different carbonyl compounds: salicylaldehyde (HL(1)), 2-hydroxyacetophenone (HL(2)), and 2, 3-dihydroxybenzaldehyde (HL(3)). These tridentate ligands are reacted with Ni(OOCCF(3))(2)·xH(2)O to yield three new Ni(II) complexes having distorted octahedral geometry at each Ni center: [Ni(L(1))(OOCCF(3))(CH(3)OH)](2) (1), [Ni(L(2))(OOCCF(3))(H(2)O)](2) (2), and [Ni(L(3))(L(3)H)](OOCCF(3))(H(2)O)(1.65)(CH(3)OH)(0.35) (3). The ligands and the complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis and IR and UV-vis spectroscopy, and the structures of the complexes ha…

Unique distal size selectivity with a digold catalyst during alkyne homocoupling

2015

Metal-catalysed chemical reactions are often controlled by steric hindrance around the metal atom and it is rare that substituents far away of the reaction site could be differentiated during reaction, particularly if they are simple alkyl groups. Here we show that a gold catalyst is able to discriminate between linear carbon alkynes with 10 or 12 atoms in the chain during the oxidative homocoupling of alkynes: the former is fully reactive and the latter is practically unreactive. We present experimental evidences, which support that the distal size selectivity occurs by the impossibility of transmetallating two long alkyl chains in an A-framed, mixed-valence digold (I, III) acetylide compl…

A Computational Study of Ethylene C−H Bond Activation by [Cp*Ir(PR3)]

2001

It has previously been demonstrated that both [(C5Me5)Ir(PMe3)(CH=CH2)H] and [(C5Me5)Ir(PMe3)(H2C=CH2)] are formed when [(C5Me5)Ir(PMe3)] is thermolytically generated in the presence of ethylene. At higher temperatures, the vinyl hydride is converted to the eta2-ethylene adduct. Density functional theory has now been used to investigate this reaction, using the B3LYP functional, two types of basis sets (LanL2DZ and TZV*), and two models of the [(C5R5)Ir(PR3)] species (R=H and CH3). The study consists of full optimizations of local minima, first-order saddle points, and minimum energy crossing points (MECP). The experimental results are best accounted for by considering both singlet and trip…

nBuLi-Mediated hydrophosphination: a simple route to valuable organophosphorus compounds

2010

A straightforward synthesis of homoallyl- and allylphosphanes has been developed using nBuLi-mediated hydrophosphination of conjugated dienes. In all the cases the phosphorus atom of the reacting phosphane attacked the sterically less demanding side of the diene exclusively. In addition, high regioselectivities towards 1,2- or 1,4-addition products were observed depending on the nature of the dienes. This hydrophosphination reaction was extended to a variety of substrates such as styrene derivatives, alkynes and 1,3,5-cycloheptatriene. The structures of three hydrophosphination products were confirmed by X-ray diffraction studies.

Exceedingly Fast Oxygen Atom Transfer to Olefins via a Catalytically Competent Nonheme Iron Species

2016

El mateix article està publicat en alemany a l'edició alemanya d' 'Angewandte Chemie' (ISSN 0044-8249, EISSN 1521-3757), 2016, vol. 128, núm. 21, p.6418–6422. DOI http://dx.doi.org/10.1002/ange.201601396 The reaction of [Fe(CF3SO3)2(PyNMe3)] with excess peracetic acid at −40 °C leads to the accumulation of a metastable compound that exists as a pair of electromeric species, [FeIII(OOAc)(PyNMe3)]2+ and [FeV(O)(OAc)(PyNMe3)]2+, in fast equilibrium. Stopped-flow UV/Vis analysis confirmed that oxygen atom transfer (OAT) from these electromeric species to olefinic substrates is exceedingly fast, forming epoxides with stereoretention. The impact of the electronic and steric properties of the subs…

Ligands hybrides : synthèse et chimie de coordination

2011

This manuscript deals with the synthesis of hybrids ligands and their coordination ability. The first part is dedicated to Cp-imidazole, Cp-imidazolium and Cp-phosphine ligands. Several synthetic routes have been developed to reach these mixed ligands and their coordination chemistry has been studied with titanium. In a second part, a method developed in our laboratory to synthesize phosphine-olefines was applied to obtain a phosphino-diene bearing three potential coordination sites. We have studied the coordination modes of this hybrid ligand using various transition metals and some of the formed complexes were tested in catalysis. In the third part is described the coordination chemistry …
