P-Chirogenic Phosphines Supported by Calix[4]arene: New Insight into Palladium-Catalyzed Asymmetric Allylic Substitution

2013

The first P-chirogenic mono- and diphosphine ligands supported on the upper rim of a calix[4]arene moiety were synthesized using the ephedrine methodology. The lithiated calix[4]arene mono- and dianions both react with the oxazaphospholidine–borane, prepared from ephedrine, to afford regio- and stereoselectively the corresponding calix[4]arenyl aminophosphine–boranes, by cleavage of the heterocyclic ring at the P–O bond position. Subsequent reactions with HCl and then organolithium reagent and finally decomplexation with DABCO lead to the corresponding calix[4]arenyl mono- or diphosphines. Both enantiomers of the calix[4]arenyl phosphines were obtained either by using (+)- or (−)-ephedrine …

Pentacyanopropenide group as ligand in organometallic chemistry. Crystal structure and electrochemical studies of (Et4N)[W(CO)5{(C(CN)2C(CN)C(CN)2}]

1999

Abstract The title complex has been obtained by reaction of the tetraethylammonium pentacyanopropenide with tungsten hexacarbonyl in acetone. Its crystal structure involves discrete [W(CO)5{C3(CN)5}]− anions in which the organic fragment is N-coordinated via one of the nitrogen atoms of a cyano group borne by one of the terminal carbon atoms of the allylic skeleton. The anion presents a distorted octahedral coordination with a W–N bond length [2.168(5) A] considerably longer than the W–C bond lengths [cis-W–C in the range 1.998(7)–2.068(4) A; trans-W–C 1.962(7) A]. Cyclic voltammograms of this complex, recorded in CH2Cl2 and CH3CN (Bu4NPF6 0.1 M), display a quasi-reversible reduction and ir…

A Simple Procedure for Oxidation of Alcohols using [Bis(acetoxy)iodo]benzene and a Catalytic Amount of Bromide Ions in Ethyl Acetate

2015

Primary and secondary benzylic alcohols and secondary aliphatic alcohols were oxidized to the corresponding aldehydes and ketones by using [bis(acetoxy)iodo]benzene (BAIB) and a catalytic amount of bromide ions, from tetrabutylammonium bromide or KBr, in ethyl acetate. The catalytic role of the bromide ions was also highlighted in the oxidation of primary aliphatic alcohols and secondary allylic alcohols carried out in the presence of 1 mol% TEMPO.

ChemInform Abstract: Enediolates and Dienediolates of Carboxylic Acids in Synthesis. Synthesis of β,γ-Epoxyacids from α-Chloroketones.

2010

Abstract Lithium dienolates of saturated or α,β-unsaturated acids react with α-chloroketones provide a convenient method for preparation of highly sustituted β,γ-epoxyacids. These highly reactive compounds lead in most cases to variable ammounts of the corresponding β-lactones and allylic alcohols.

Input of P, N-(phosphanyl, amino)-ferrocene hybrid derivatives in late transition metals catalysis

2018

International audience; Unequally functionalized ferrocenes give access to valuable hemilabile reactivity in catalytic reaction. We address the synthesis of hybrid (P, N)-ferrocenyl compounds for which recent catalytic breakthrough applications have been reported, transversely in late transition metals chemistry. Palladium, nickel, rhodium, iridium, and emerging iron and gold catalysis are illustrated from selected examples, which include CC bond formation from cross-coupling and polymerization, allylic substitution, cyanation, hydroformylation, CH arylation and silylation and hydrogenation reactions.

Solution-, solid-phase, and fluorous synthesis of beta,beta-difluorinated cyclic quaternary alpha-amino acid derivatives: a comparative study.

2008

The diastereoselective synthesis of cyclic beta,beta-difluorinated alpha-amino acid derivatives bearing a quaternary stereocenter is described. The process relies on the chemo- and diastereoselective addition of allylic organometallic reagents to fluorinated alpha-imino esters and a subsequent ring-closing metathesis reaction (RCM). Complete selectivity in the nucleophilic addition was achieved with (R)-phenylglycinol methyl ether as a chiral auxiliary. The resulting amino acids were introduced into peptide chains, which could facilitate the preparation of potentially bioactive dipeptide derivatives. In addition, the solution synthesis of these cyclic fluorinated alpha-amino acids was succe…

Synthesis of fluorinated allylic amines: Reaction of 2-(trimethylsilyl)ethyl sulfones and sulfoxides with fluorinated imines

2007

A new synthesis of fluorinated allylamines through the reaction of 2-(trimethylsilyl)ethyl sulfones and sulfoxides (as vinyl anion equivalents) with imines and imino esters has been described. The process includes a TBAF-mediated fragmentation of 2-(trimethylsilyl)ethyl sulfones to afford the desired allylic amines. When the reaction is performed with the corresponding sulfoxides, the fragmentation takes place under the addition conditions, affording the final products in a single step. (C) 2007 Elsevier B.V. Regio- and stereoselective oxyfunctionalization at C-1 and C-5 in sesquiterpene guaianolides

1998

Abstract The regio- and stereoselective functionalization at C-1 and C-5 positions in a guaiane skeleton by allylic hydroxylation are described. The stereochemistry of the resulting compounds are identical to those of the majority of natural 1- and 5-hydroxy-guaianolides.
