Adjuvante Ganzkörper- akupunktur bei Depression

1998

In order to examine the efficacy of whole body acupuncture additionally applied to drug treatment in depression, a single-blind placebo-controlled study with 70 inpatients administered to three different treatment groups has been carried out. All patients were pharmacologically treated with the tetracyclic antidepressant mianserin. The verum group (n = 22) received acupuncture at specific points considered to be effective in the treatment of depression. The placebo group (n = 24) was treated with acupuncture at non-specific locations and the control group (n = 24) received only pharmacological treatment. Acupuncture was applied three times a week over a period of four weeks. Psychopathology…

Wache Videolaryngoskopie

2016

Introduction Awake video laryngoscopy is a novel option in airway management that is drawing more and more attention as an alternative to awake endoscopic guided intubation.Main issues: Intubation under preserved spontaneous breathing is the safest method to secure the expected difficult airway. In direct comparisons to awake flexible endoscopic intubation, awake video laryngoscopy achieves satisfactory intubation times and a high acceptance of patients and anesthesiologists. Specific cases, in particular very limited mouth opening or sub-glottic masses, require awake flexible endoscopic intubation. Sufficient topical anesthesia and a sophisticated sedation protocol are prerequisites for su…

Abciximab Facilitates the Rate and Extent of Thrombolysis

1999

Background —The TIMI 14 trial tested the hypothesis that abciximab, the Fab fragment of a monoclonal antibody directed to the platelet glycoprotein (GP) IIb/IIIa receptor, is a potent and safe addition to reduced-dose thrombolytic regimens for ST-segment elevation MI. Methods and Results —Patients (n=888) with ST-elevation MI presenting <12 hours from onset of symptoms were treated with aspirin and randomized initially to either 100 mg of accelerated-dose alteplase (control) or abciximab (bolus 0.25 mg/kg and 12-hour infusion of 0.125 μg · kg −1 · min −1 ) alone or in combination with reduced doses of alteplase (20 to 65 mg) or streptokinase (500 000 U to 1.5 MU). Control patients recei…

Methadone versus buprenorphine: data detected from Caltanissetta SER.T

2020

In last years, heroin-addicted have exponentially increased: this has made it necessary to identify a pharmacological strategy as effective as possible. With this purpose, a statistical investigation was conducted in a sample of individuals, aged between 18 and 50. They were diagnosed and subjected to different treatments at Ser.T of Caltanissetta (Sicily-Italy) during the period 2013-2017. The analyzed patients were treated with three different pharmacological therapy: methadone 0.1%, methadone 0.5%, buprenorphine and suboxone. We obtained percentages of responders, low responders and non-responders patients from data processing, based on used therapy. Considering pharmacological responses…

Quantification of intracranial contribution to rheoencephalography by a numerical model of the head

2000

Abstract Objectives : Partial contributions of intracranial and extracranial circulation to rheoencephalography (REG) remain uncertain. The main goal of this work is to determine theoretically the capability of REG techniques to reflect intracranial blood flow. Methods : Head and current injection electrodes were computationally modeled to assess REG sensitivity to brain and scalp conductivity changes. Data obtained were related to tissue perfusions to calculate the partial contribution of cerebral blood perfusion to REG I, REG II and monopolar REG and to assess their amplitudes. Results : When REG I and monopolar REG were used, the theoretical maximum of intracranial contribution was reach…

Physicochemical compatibility of nebuliser solution admixtures containing colistimethate and hypertonic saline or colistimethate, fluticasone-17-prop…

2012

Objectives For practical reasons, patients with cystic fibrosis (CF) tend to mix different inhalation solutions for concomitant inhalation instead of inhaling the different medications consecutively. A study was undertaken to examine the compatibility of colistimethate dissolved in 5.85% hypertonic sodium chloride (NaCl) solution and the quadripartite mixtures of colistimethate, fluticasone-17-propionate, ipratropium bromide and salbutamol sulfate. Methods The test solutions were prepared by mixing ordinary doses of the inhalation products and analysed immediately. Microbiological assays of antibiotics and high-performance liquid chromatography assays were used to determine chemical compati…

Ein Mikro-Atemstromventil für spontan atmende narkotisierte Kleintiere - A Respiratory Micro-Valve for Spontaneously Breathing Anaesthetized Small An…

1994

For the accurate functional analysis of the gas exchange in the lungs or evaluation of artificial oxygen carriers in spontaneously breathing anaesthetized small animals, we developed a new respiratory micro-valve. The body of the valve is made of aluminium, and the flaps are made of silicone rubber. The maximum flow rate in a rat measured with a pneumotachograph and the micro-valve was an average of 19.9 ml/s during inspiration, and 17.8 ml/s during expiration. The pressure measured in the tracheal tube was -0.85 during inspiration, and +0.39 cm H2O during expiration; the end-expiratory pressure in the tube was zero. In two experiments with anaesthetised rats lasting 4-5 hours, ventilation,…

Effects of lobeline on spatial learning in C57BL mice

2000

In the present study, the effect of lobeline on water maze performance in C57BL/6J mice have been evaluated. In the first experiment, subjects were 2-month old mice to which lobeline (3.5 and 7 mg/kg) had been administered SC along 5 days 15 min before daily training in the water maze. Results showed that lobeline did not have effects on the acquisition of the task. In the second experiment, effects of lobeline were compared in 2, 6 and 20-month old mice. In this experiment the drug was administered daily five days prior to the beginning of the task and during the five days of acquisition. Results indicated that 20-month old mice learned the spatial task more slowly than 2 and 6-month old m…

"Slitsomt, men gøy!" : en kvalitativ studie om den nyutdannede anestesisykepleieren sin opplevelse av kompetanse av yrkesutøvelsen

2014

Masteroppgave i spesialsykepleie – Universitetet i Agder 2014 Background: With the technological and medical development we are experiencing today, the anesthesia nurse is constantly challenged with complex patient situations and advanced medical equipment in their work . This situation leads to substantial professional requirements on expertise in the anesthesia subject. International research shows that there are many factors that influence a nurses' experiences in their first year of working after graduation. However, in Norway there is little research on the experience of own competency for newly qualified anesthesia nurses. Purpose and issue: The purpose of this study is to learn how t…
