Wyjątkowość doświadczenia śmierci w artystycznych grach wideo

2015

Video games present different meanings of death than those conditioned by social and cultural contexts. Most games treat the motif of death instrumentally. Therefore, death is usually a norm and a rule in typical video games. However, art games present a different sense of death, one that defies its conventional meanings. The article analyses the different presentations of death in three art games: "Passage" (Rohrer, 2007), "The Graveyard" (Tale of Tales, 2008) and "Queers in Love at the End of the World" (Anthropy, 2013). These productions prove that video games are an excellent medium to offer players a deep emotional experience, which can also encourage taking a fundamental and more prof…

Novom aliquid inventum. Scritti sul teatro antico per Gianna Petrone

2018

Cannabinoid CB1 receptor in dorsal telencephalic glutamatergic neurons: distinctive sufficiency for hippocampus-dependent and amygdala-dependent syna…

2013

A major goal in current neuroscience is to understand the causal links connecting protein functions, neural activity, and behavior. The cannabinoid CB1 receptor is expressed in different neuronal subpopulations, and is engaged in fine-tuning excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmission. Studies using conditional knock-out mice revealed necessary roles of CB1 receptor expressed in dorsal telencephalic glutamatergic neurons in synaptic plasticity and behavior, but whether this expression is also sufficient for brain functions is still to be determined. We applied a genetic strategy to reconstitute full wild-type CB1 receptor functions exclusively in dorsal telencephalic glutamatergic neurons a…

The ionic tin(IV) complex tri-μ2-methoxy-μ3-oxo-tris[di-tert-butyltin(IV)] tri-μ2-methoxy-bis[tert-butyldimethoxystannate(IV)]

2004

The solid-state of the title compound, [Sn3(C4H9)6(CH3O)3O][Sn2(C4H9)2(CH3O)7], consists of distinct [tBu6Sn3(μ-OCH3)3(μ3-O)]+ cations and [tBu2Sn2(OCH3)4(μ-OCH3)3]− anions, apparently formed as a result of slow hydrolysis of pure di(tert-butyl)dimethoxystannane, tBu2Sn(OCH3)2. In the monocation, the coordination about the Sn atoms is distorted trigonal bipyramidal, and, in the monoanion, distorted octahedral. The trigonal bipyramidal arrangement induces planarity of the Sn3O4 motif.

The Italian Method of la drammatica: its Legacy and Reception

2014

The volume The Italian Method of la drammatica: its Legacy and Reception includes the long and complex investigation to identify the Italian acting-code system of the drammatica used by nineteenth-century Italian actors such as Adelaide Ristori Giovanni Grasso Tommaso Salvini Eleonora Duse. In particular their acting inspired Stanislavky who reformed twentieth-century stage. The declamatory code of the drammatica was composed by symbols for notation of voice and gesture which Italian actors marked in their prompt-books. The discovery of the drammatica’s code sheds new light on nineteenth-century acting. Having deciphered the phonetic symbols of the code Anna Sica has given birth an investigation with a group of outstanding scholars in an attempt to explore the drammatica’s legacy and its reception in Europe as well as in Asia. At this stage new evidence has emerged proving that for instance the symbol used by the drammatica actors to sign the colorito vocale was known to English actors in the second half of the nineteenth century. By noting how Adelaide Ristori passed on her art to Irving’s actress Genevieve Ward and how Stanislavsky almost aflame moulded his system from Duse’s acting an unexplored variety in the reception of the drammatica’s legacy is revealed.Settore L-ART/05 - Discipline Dello Spettacolo

Detectability of cannabinoids in the serum samples of cannabis users: Indicators of recent cannabis use? A follow‐up study

2021

Forensic toxicologists are frequently required to predict the time of last cannabis consumption. Several studies suggested the utility of minor cannabinoids as indicators of recent cannabis use. Because several factors influence blood cannabinoid concentrations, the interpretation of serum cannabinoid concentrations remains challenging. To assess the informative value of serum cannabinoid levels in cannabis users (in total N = 117 patients, including 56 patients who stated an exact time of last cannabis use within 24 h before blood sampling), the detectability of cannabinoids, namely delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-9-THC), 11-hydroxy-delta-9-THC, 11-nor-9-carboxy-delta-9-THC, cannabichr…

Comparing illicit drug use in 19 European cities through sewage analysis

2012

Abstract: The analysis of sewage for urinary biomarkers of illicit drugs is a promising and complementary approach for estimating the use of these substances in the general population. For the first time, this approach was simultaneously applied in 19 European cities, making it possible to directly compare illicit drug loads in Europe over a 1-week period. An inter-laboratory comparison study was performed to evaluate the analytical performance of the participating laboratories. Raw 24-hour composite sewage samples were collected from 19 European cities during a single week in March 2011 and analyzed for the urinary biomarkers of cocaine, amphetamine, ecstasy, methamphetamine and cannabis u…

The working alliance in a randomized controlled trial comparing Internet-based self-help and face-to-face cognitive behavior therapy for chronic tinn…

2014

Objective This study (ID: NCT01205906) compared the impact of the working alliance between the therapist and the client on treatment outcome in a group and an Internet-based cognitive behavior therapy (GCBT vs. ICBT) for chronic tinnitus. Methods The Working Alliance Inventory — Short Revised (WAI-SR, scale range: 1–5) was administered to 26 GCBT and 38 ICBT participants after treatment weeks 2, 5, and 9, and the Tinnitus Handicap Inventory (THI) before and after the treatment. Results High alliance ratings were found in both ICBT (WAI-SR total scores at week 9: M = 3.59, SD = 0.72) and GCBT (WAI-SR total scores at week 9: M = 4.20, SD = 0.49), but significantly higher ratings occurred in G…
