Optimization of the JUNO liquid scintillator composition using a Daya Bay antineutrino detector

To maximize the light yield of the liquid scintillator (LS) for the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory (JUNO), a 20 t LS sample was produced in a pilot plant at Daya Bay. The optical properties of the new LS in various compositions were studied by replacing the gadolinium-loaded LS in one antineutrino detector. The concentrations of the fluor, PPO, and the wavelength shifter, bis-MSB, were increased in 12 steps from 0.5 g/L and <0.01 mg/L to 4 g/L and 13 mg/L, respectively. The numbers of total detected photoelectrons suggest that, with the optically purified solvent, the bis-MSB concentration does not need to be more than 4 mg/L. International audience; We investigated whether and how sublexical units such as phonological syllables mediate access to the lexicon in French visual word recognition. To do so, two lexical decision task (LDT) experiments examined the nature of the syllabic neighbourhood effect. In Experiments 1a and b, the number of higher frequency syllabic neighbours was manipulated while controlling for the first bigram. The results failed to show a pure syllabic neighbourhood effect. Several microorganisms cause degradation to the natural organic material such as fibers, woods, and dyes as well as to stone objects. Development of fast analysis methods for extractives in papermaking process waters

A fast analysis method with an online sample enrichment technique for the analysis of resin and fatty acids present in papermaking process waters was developed. This method was based on atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) and mass spectrometry (MS) for the detection of [M-H]- ions of compounds of interest. The method was applied to the control of the most prevalent resin (dehydroabietic and abietic) and fatty (palmitic, stearic, oleic, and linolenic) acid levels in papermaking process waters. The paratext on the back cover of Margaret Mazzantini's Venuto al mondo (published in 2008, winner of Campiello Award 2009, a film in 2012, a serial tv in 2014) reports the 'prize motivation' written by the jury of Campiello, formed by important professors and literary critics. Comparing the text of the novel with the paratext of the book, the article analyses some sure results of the paratext, and also some strategic gaps and reticences.

Selon une pratique volontairement grossiere du trucage proche du collage, ils proposent des compositions subversives qui sont des pastiches de la peinture d’histoire et de l’image de propagande moderne, qu’ils travestissent litteralement a des fins comiques et dont ils critiquent les procedes mis a nu.
