A prototypal architecture of a IEEE 21451 network for smart grid applications based on power line communications

This paper deals with the development of reliable measurement and communication devices and systems and their integration on a prototypal network architecture for smart grid applications, based on the use of narrowband power line communications (PLCs). The proposed solution is presented and discussed in the framework of the ISO/IEC/IEEE 21451 family of Standards. Currently, PLCs are not properly addressed by the aforesaid Standards; on the other hand, by including such issue, their guidelines could represent a common platform for the integration and interoperability of the proposed systems and devices. Abstract Subdivision schemes are widely used in the generation of curves and surfaces, and therefore they are applied in a variety of interesting applications from geological reconstructions of unaccessible regions to cartoon film productions or car and ship manufacturing. Abstract The application of Building Automation and Control (BAC) systems has many advantages. One of these is the reduction of the end-user electricity consumption and, if applied to lighting systems, the achievement of well-acknowledged benefits from daylight, such as productivity, health, visual comfort and well-being. Optimization of a polarization imaging system for 3D measurements of transparent objects

2009

This paper presents a multispectral imaging system for 3D reconstruction of transparent objects based on "shape from polarization" technique. The originality of this work relies on a multispectral active lighting system which enables to cope with the two ambiguities on the zenith angle and azimuth angle. A calibration step allows optimising the polarimetric measurements. Example of a reconstructed transparent object is presented.

An accurate knowledge of the spectral calibration of imaging spectrometers is required for optimum data processing and interpretation. The scene-based spectral characterization of imaging spectrometers is frequently necessary to update or replace the pre-flight laboratory-based spectral characterization supplied by the data provider.
