Synthesis and Antiproliferative Activity of Novel 3-(Indazol-3-yl)-quinazolin-4(3H)-one and 3-(Indazol-3-yl)-benzotriazin-4(3H)-one Derivatives

1999

Several new 3-(indazol-3-yl)-quinazolin-4(3H)-one and 3-(indazol-3-yl)-benzotriazin-4(3H)-one derivatives 5 and 6 were synthesized and tested for their in vitro antiproliferative activity against Raji, K562, and K562-R cell lines. The pharmacological screening showed that some 2, 6, or 7-substituted quinazolinones 5 posses a significant antiproliferative activity, with a percentage growth inhibition ranging from 44.8% to 100% at 50 microM, which was higher than that showed by the unsubstituted derivative 5a previously synthesized. For the most active compounds 5d, 5f, and 5g the IC50 were recorded.

Synthesis of the New Ring System 2-Oxo-[1,4]oxazino[3,2-e]indole, Heteroanalogue of Angelicin

2009

A convenient synthesis of the 2-oxo-[1,4]oxazino[3,2-e]indole ring system, an heteroanalogue of Angelicin, is reported. Our synthetic approach consisted of the annelation of the oxazine ring on the indole moiety using 4-amino-5-hydroxy indoles as building blocks. The antiproliferative activity of the new compounds either in the dark or under UVA irradiation was investigated.

Isoindolo[2,1-c]benzo[1,2,4]triazines: a new ring system with antiproliferative activity.

2006

Abstract A series of isoindolo-benzo-triazines of type 4 was obtained by diazotization of 2-(2-aminoaryl)-1-cyanoisoindoles 3a – j . All the synthesized derivatives were screened by the National Cancer Institute (NCI, Bethesda, USA), for in vitro antitumor activity against a 3-human cancer cell line panel consisting of MCF7 (breast), NCI-H460 (lung), and SF-268 (CNS). Derivatives 4a , f , i , j were selected to be evaluated in the full panel of about 50 human tumor cell lines derived from nine human cancer cell types and showed antiproliferative activity generally in the micromolar range. The most sensitive cell lines were: MOLT-4 and SR of the leukemia subpanel, A549/ATCC and EKVX of the n…

Synthesis and evaluation of microtubule assembly inhibition and cytotoxicity of prenylated derivatives of cyclo-l-Trp-l-Pro

2000

The synthesis of three isoprenylated derivatives of cyclo-L-Trp-L-Pro is described. These substances have been evaluated for cytotoxic activity in rat normal fibroblast 3Y1 cells and have also been evaluated in vitro for the inhibition of microtubule assembly.

Roquefortine C occurrence in blue cheese.

2001

Several strains of Penicillium are used for the production of mold-ripened cheeses, and some of them are able to produce mycotoxins. The aims of the research were the determination of roquefortine C and PR toxin in domestic and imported blue cheeses, the identification of the penicillia used as starter, and the investigation of their capacity for producing toxins in culture media. Roquefortine C was always found in the cheeses at levels ranging from 0.05 to 1.47 mg/kg, whereas the PR toxin was never found. The identification of the fungal strains present in the domestic cheeses included Penicillium glabrum, Penicillium roqueforti, and Penicillium cyclopium in the Gorgonzola "dolce" and Peni…

A Chiral, Photoluminescent, and Spin-Canted {Cu(I)Re(IV)2}n Branched Chain.

2015

A new heteroleptic 1D Cu(I)-Re(IV) coordination polymer of the formula {Cu(I)Re(IV)Cl4(μ-Cl)(μ-pyz)[Re(IV)Cl4(μ-bpym)]}n·nMeNO2 (1; pyz = pyrazine, bpym = 2,2'-bipyrimidine) has been prepared through the Cu(I)-mediated self-assembly of two different Re(IV) metalloligands, namely, [ReCl5(pyz)](-) and [ReCl4(bpym)]. 1 consists of chiral branched chains with an overall rack-type architecture displaying photoemission and magnetic ordering. These results constitute a first step toward making new multifunctional magnetic materials based on mixed 3d-5d molecular systems.

Synthesis, crystal structure and magnetic properties of the Re(II) complexes NBu4[Re(NO)Br4(L)] (L = pyridine and diazine type ligands).

2013

Four novel Re(II) complexes of formula NBu4[Re(NO)Br4(L)] [NBu4(+) = tetra-n-butylammonium cation and L = pyridine (1), pyrazine (2), pyrimidine (3), pyridazine (4)] have been prepared by a substitution reaction involving NBu4[Re(NO)Br4(EtOH)] and L. Their crystal structures have been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. They are all mononuclear complexes whose structure is made up of [Re(NO)Br4L](-) anions and NBu4(+) cations. Each Re(II) ion is six-coordinate with four bromide ligands, a linear nitrosyl group and one monodentate nitrogen donor L building a tetragonally distorted octahedral surrounding. The Re-Br bond distances cover a narrow range [2.5048(8)-2.5333(5) Å] and th…

Synthesis, X-ray Structure of Two Hexa-Coordinated Ni(II) Complexes with s-Triazine Hydrazine Schiff Base Ligand

2023

The hydrazine s-triazine ligand (E)-4,4’-(6-(2-(1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethylidene)hydrazinyl)-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diyl)dimorpholine (DMPT) was used to synthesize two new Ni(II) complexes via a self-assembly technique. The two complexes were synthesized by a one-pot synthesis strategy and characterized by elemental analysis, FTIR and single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis to be [Ni(DMPT)(H2O)3](NO3)2.3H2O (1) and [Ni(DMPT)(H2O)3](NO3)2.H2O (2). The structures of both complexes were very similar regarding the coordination sphere and counter anions, but differ only in the number of the crystal water molecules. In the case of complex 1, there are three water molecules instead of one H2O molecu…

A New 1D Ni (II) Coordination Polymer of s-Triazine Type Ligand and Thiocyanate as Linker via Unexpected Hydrolysis of 2,4-Bis(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazo…

2023

A new 1D Ni(II) coordination polymer was synthesized by the reaction of NiSO4·6H2O with 2,4-bis(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-6-methoxy-1,3,5-triazine (BPT) and SCN− as a linker in an acidic medium by heating under reflux conditions. Unusually, the BPT ligand underwent acid-mediated hydrolysis by losing one of the pyrazolyl arms afforded the polymeric [Ni(MPT)(H2O)(SCN)2]n complex (MPT: 4-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-6-methoxy-1,3,5-triazin-2-ol. The Ni(II) center is coordinated with one MPT as a bidentate NN-chelate, one water molecule, and two thiocyanate groups in cis positions to one another. One of the thiocyanate groups acts as a bridging ligand between metal centers, l…
