Benzimidazolones and renzapride facilitate acetylcholine release from guinea-pig myenteric plexus via 5-HT4 receptors

The effects of the 5-HT4 receptor agonists BIMU 8, BIMU 1, renzapride and of the 5-HT1p receptor agonist 5-hydroxyindalpine on basal and electrically evoked outflow of tritium were studied in guinea-pig longitudinal muscle myenteric plexus preparations preincubated with [3H]choline. Muscle contractions were recorded simultaneously. BIMU 8 caused a calcium dependent and tetrodotoxin sensitive increase in basal [3H]outflow that was assumed to represent release of [3H]acetylcholine. In addition, BIMU 8 enhanced the release of [3H]acetylcholine and twitch contractions evoked by submaximal electrical stimulation. Objectives: This study compared (1) levels of engagement in lifestyle risk behaviours and (2) mental and physical health status in individuals who have previously been homeless to those of individuals who have not. Extra-anatomic iliac to superior mesenteric artery bypass after bridge endovascular treatment for chronic mesenteric ischemia. A case report

A 60 year old patient presenting chronic mesenteric Ischemia (CMI) was managed with superior mesenteric artery (SMA) stenting as bridge therapy to conventional open surgery. At 5 months follow-up, the SMA stent occluded. During this bridge period the patient gained his general condition and the body mass index (BMI) increased from 18 to 22. The patient was managed subsequently with iliac-SMA bypass in C-loop configuration. At 6 months follow-up the bypass is patent, the patient has no CMI symptoms and his BMI is 25. The serine/threonine kinase casein kinase 2 (CK2) has a well-reported role in prostate cancer resistance to apoptotic agents or anticancer drugs. To investigate the systemic signs of immune-inflammatory responses in Alzheimer's disease (AD), in the present study we have analyzed blood lymphocyte subsets and the expression of activation markers on peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from AD patients and age-matched healthy controls (HC) activated in vitro by recombinant amyloid-beta peptide (rAbeta42).
