Funciones test para optimización mono-objetivo
2018
La Valutazione in itinere
2011
This chapter deals with the ongoing evaluation and monitoring of policies, distinguishing the various areas: parliamentary, regulatory, organizational (of personnel and structures), financial implementation, product results and impact results. We also focus on corrective measures in the course …
Chemometric Tools to Point Out Benchmarks and Chromophores in Pigments through Spectroscopic Data Analyses
2021
Spectral preprocessing data and chemometric tools are analytical methods widely applied in several scientific contexts i.e., in archaeometric applications. A systematic classification of natural powdered pigments of organic and inorganic nature through Principal Component Analysis with a multi-instruments spectroscopic study is presented here. The methodology allows the access to elementary and molecular unique benchmarks to guide and speed up the identification of an unknown pigment and its recipe. This study is conducted on a set of 48 powdered pigments and tested on a real-case sample from the wall painting in S. Maria Delle Palate di Tusa (Messina, Italy). Four spectroscopic techniques …
An Artificial Decision Maker for Comparing Reference Point Based Interactive Evolutionary Multiobjective Optimization Methods
2021
Comparing interactive evolutionary multiobjective optimization methods is controversial. The main difficulties come from features inherent to interactive solution processes involving real decision makers. The human can be replaced by an artificial decision maker (ADM) to evaluate methods quantitatively. We propose a new ADM to compare reference point based interactive evolutionary methods, where reference points are generated in different ways for the different phases of the solution process. In the learning phase, the ADM explores different parts of the objective space to gain insight about the problem and to identify a region of interest, which is studied more closely in the decision phas…
On the accuracy of three statistical softwares
2005
In this paper we compare the accuracy of three packages that are commonly used for statistical calculations: Excel of Microsoft, version XP Edition 2003, Statistica of Statsoft, version 6, and R, an open-source free software, available on the web, version 1.9.0. To assess the accuracy of each software in different statistical areas, we are going to use benchmarks expressly developed for this aim. The obtained results show a superiority of R in comparison with the other two softwares.
SHREC'12 Track: 3D mesh segmentation
2012
International audience; 3D mesh segmentation is a fundamental process in many applications such as shape retrieval, compression, deformation, etc. The objective of this track is to evaluate the performance of recent segmentation methods using a ground-truth corpus and an accurate similarity metric. The ground-truth corpus is composed of 28 watertight models, grouped in five classes (animal, furniture, hand, human and bust) and each associated with 4 ground-truth segmentations done by human subjects. 3 research groups have participated to this track, the accuracy of their segmentation algorithms have been evaluated and compared with 4 other state-of-the-art methods.
Open benchmark database for multidisciplinary optimization problems
2012
Solving new increasingly complex problems requires development of new methods and tools but verification of their correctness and efficiency in absence of actual experimental data is difficult. In this paper we propose an open database of benchmark cases for multidisciplinary optimization validation that will serve as a reference point for discovery and validation of optimization methods and facilitate adoption of such methods in the industry. The paper describes the goals of the database, the process of acquiring content to the database, its initial content and technical implementation. peerReviewed
S-pot - A benchmark in spotting signs within continuous signing
2014
In this paper we present S-pot, a benchmark setting for evaluating the performance of automatic spotting of signs in continuous sign language videos. The benchmark includes 5539 video files of Finnish Sign Language, ground truth sign spotting results, a tool for assessing the spottings against the ground truth, and a repository for storing information on the results. In addition we will make our sign detection system and results made with it publicly available as a baseline for comparison and further developments. peerReviewed
A branch-and-cut algorithm for the Team Orienteering Problem
2017
The Team Orienteering Problem aims at maximizing the total amount of profit collected by a fleet of vehicles while not exceeding a predefined travel time limit on each vehicle. In the last years, several exact methods based on different mathematical formulations were proposed. In this paper, we present a new two-index formulation with a polynomial number of variables and constraints. This compact formulation, reinforced by connectivity constraints, was solved by means of a branch-and-cut algorithm. The total number of instances solved to optimality is 327 of 387 benchmark instances, 26 more than any previous method. Moreover, 24 not previously solved instances were closed to optimality.
Benchmarking non-photorealistic rendering of portraits
2017
We present a set of images for helping NPR practitioners evaluate their image-based portrait stylisation algorithms. Using a standard set both facilitates comparisons with other methods and helps ensure that presented results are representative. We give two levels of difficulty, each consisting of 20 images selected systematically so as to provide good coverage of several possible portrait characteristics. We applied three existing portrait-specific stylisation algorithms, two general-purpose stylisation algorithms, and one general learning based stylisation algorithm to the first level of the benchmark, corresponding to the type of constrained images that have often been used in portrait-s…
