A European Observational Study to Evaluate the Safety and the Effectiveness of Safinamide in Routine Clinical Practice: The SYNAPSES Trial

2021

Background: Safinamide modulates both dopaminergic and glutamatergic systems with positive effects on motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease (PD). The drug utilization study SYNAPSES was designed to investigate the use of safinamide in routine clinical practice, as recommended by the European Medicines Agency. Objective: To describe the occurrence of adverse events in PD patients treated with safinamide in real-life conditions. Methods: The SYNAPSES trial is an observational, European, multicenter, retrospective-prospective cohort study. Patients were followed up to 12 months with analyses performed in the overall population and in patients aged >75 years, with relevant comorbi…

Bis-ferrocene derivatives of bridged calix[4]arenes: syntheis, X-ray crystal structure and electrochemical properties

1991

The reaction of chlorocarbonylferrocene (2) with bridged calix[4]arene macrocyclic compounds, in which two opposite para-positions are connected by an additional aliphatic chain where n = 5 (1a) or n = 8 (1b) respectively, gave the corresponding new redox-active bis-ferrocene derivatives of bridged calix[4]arenes, 3a and 3b. An X-ray diffraction study of 3a shows that the caliz[4]arene has a cone conformation in which the two ferrocene substituents are located on the phenolic units connected to each other by the aliphatic chain bridge. Cyclic voltammetric and coulometric studies in dichloromethane reveal that 3a and 3b undergo reversible two electron oxidations at + 0.90 V (versus SCE), sug…

A combined experimental and theoretical study of the polar [3+2] cycloaddition of electrophilically activated carbonyl ylides with aldehydes and imin…

2009

International audience; Numerous 2,5-diaryl-1,3-dioxolane-4,4-dicarbonitriles and 2,4-diphenyl-1,3-oxazolidine-5,5- dicarbonitriles have been synthesized by [3+2] cycloaddition reactions between carbonyl ylides generated from epoxides, and aldehydes or imines. In contrast to the use of aldehydes (3,4,5- trimethoxybenzaldehyde, piperonal, 1-naphthaldehyde, indole-3-carboxaldehyde, furan-2- carboxaldehyde and thiophene-2-carboxaldehyde), the reactions performed with imines (N- (phenylmethylene)methanamine, N-(1,3-benzodioxol-5-ylmethylene)propylamine, N-(1,3-benzodioxol- 5-ylmethylene)butylamine and N-(1,3-benzodioxol-5-ylmethylene)benzylamine) proceed diastereoselectively. The effect of micr…

Reactive thiol-ene emulsion-templated porous polymers incorporating pentafluorophenyl acrylate

2013

Abstract Highly porous polymers (polyHIPEs) incorporating activated esters have been prepared by photopolymerisation of high internal phase emulsions (HIPEs) containing pentafluorophenyl acrylate (PFPA) in the monomer phase. The resulting materials have nominal porosity of 80% and a well-defined, interconnected pore morphology with average pore diameters ranging from 30 to 50 μm. PFPA could be added at up to 50 wt% of the monomer phase without destabilising the HIPE noticeably, however analysis of the polyHIPE materials revealed that only around half of this was incorporated into the final porous materials. The pentafluorophenyl groups were shown to be reactive towards a range of amines (tr…

Stereoselective Synthesis of the Glycosidase Inhibitor Australine through a One-Pot, Double-Cyclization Strategy

2006

[reaction: see text] A stereocontrolled, convergent synthesis of the alkaloid australine, a glycosidase inhibitor of the pyrrolizidine class, is described. The chiral starting materials were ketone 3, derived from L-erythrulose, and alpha-alkoxy aldehyde 4, prepared from L-malic acid. A key step of the synthesis was the highly stereoselective aldol reaction between 4 and a Z boron enolate derived from 3. Another key step was the one-pot construction of the bicyclic pyrrolizidine system by means of a three-step sequence of SN2 displacements induced by benzylamine on a trimesylate precursor.

Studien zum Vorgang der Wasserstoffübertragung, 45. Elektroreduktion aromatischer Carbonsäureester

1977

Arynic species II

1986

Abstract o-Benzyne and its 4-methyl, 4-chloro and 4-bromo-derivatives were generated in the thermal decomposition of two new kinds of polymer-bound precursors: 1(2-carboxyaryl)triazenes and 2-carboxyaryl-sulphonates. New kinds of trapping polymers for these elusive species are also presented.
