Anion-π Interaction: An Influential Force in Solid State Molecular Microstructures
2013
The crystal structures of simple triphenyl(pentafluorobenzyl)phosphonium salts provide crucial data on the influence of anion size on the molecular structure of bis(pentafluorobenzyl)phosphonium cations containing two adjacent electron-deficient moieties. Whereas the bromide anions interact by anion-π interaction in a 1:1 mode with the pentafluorobenzene unit Z-configured, the bulkier anions iodide, tetrafluoroborate, and hexafluorophosphate result in a 1:2 tweezer-like anti-configuration in which one anion interacts simultaneously with two pentafluorobenzene units. When spatial separation of the two electron-deficient rings match the size of the anion, anion-π interactions induce a conform…
Functionalization of Bambusurils by a Thiol-Ene Click Reaction and a Facile Method for the Preparation of Anion-Free Bambus[6]urils
2018
Sulfide-functionalized bambus[4]urils ((RS)8 BU[4]) and bambus[6]urils ((RS)12 BU[6]) were synthesized through thiol-ene click coupling reactions (TEC) of allylbambus[n]urils. Thiosugars were grafted to BU[4] and BU[6]. Synthesis of BU[6] derivatives always requires the use of a template anion (iodide, chloride, or bromide), which is enclosed in the cavity of BU[6]. We show that this anion influences the reactivity of bambus[6]urils. An encapsulated iodide makes allyl functions of allyl12 BU[6] less reactive towards TEC and hydrogenation reactions in comparison to the corresponding chloride or bromide inclusion complexes. This is critical for the chemical reactivity of BU[6] and even more t…
Umwandlung von 2-Bromäthoxycarbonyl-Schutzgruppen in 2-Phosphonioäthoxycarbonyl-Schutzgruppen für Aminosäuren1)
1976
Modification of 2-Brornoethoxycarbonyl Protective Groups to 2-Phosphonioethoxycarbonyl Protective Functions of …
Oxidative halogenation of substituted pyrroles with Cu(II). PartIV.Bromination of 2-(2′-hydroxybenzoyl)pyrrole. A new synthesis of bioactive analogs …
1994
The selective bromination with copper(II) bromide of the pyrrole ring in 2-(2'-hydroxybenzoyl)pyrrole (II) in the heterogeneous phase is des- cribed giving in almost quantitative yield the 4,5-dibromo derivative (VI). The subsequent introduction of halogen into the phenol moiety was observed when the reaction was perfomed in the homogeneous phase with an excess of halogenating agent. The pentabromo derivative (IX), a com- pound very active against Staphylococcus aureus (mic=17 nmoles per dm -3 ), was obtained by exhaustive bromination of the title compound. Poor yields of chloro derivatives of (II) were obtained by reaction of the parent compound with copper(II) chloride
ChemInform Abstract: Sustainable Carbon-Carbon Bond Formation Catalyzed by New Oxamate-Containing Palladium(II) Complexes in Ionic Liquids.
2014
New and versatile bis(oxamato)palladate(II) complexes (I) are synthesized and investigated for both Suzuki and Heck coupling reactions in molten tetra-n-butylammonium bromide as ionic liquid.
Synthesis and Platinum (II) Complexes of Different Polyazacyclophane Receptors
2015
During the last years, research on coordination chemistry of platinum has aroused great interest due to their potential biological applications. Herein, we report the interaction of PtCI42- with different polyazacyclophanes containing a pyridine unit as aromatic spacer. Formation of complexes has been studied by 1H and 195Pt NMR spectroscopy. Analysis of the recorded spectra of D2O solutions containing L and PtCl42- in a 1:1 molar ratio at acidic pH shows the evolution with time of the 1H and 195Pt signals. Different crystal structures have been solved by X-ray diffraction analysis. At acidic pHs, the metal ion is coordinated by the central amino group of the macrocyclic cavity and three ch…
Crystal structure and Hirshfeld surface analysis of (E)-3-(benzylideneamino)-5-phenylthiazolidin-2-iminium bromide
2020
The central thiazolidine ring of the title salt, C16H16N3S+center dot Br-, adopts an envelope conformation, with the C atom bearing the phenyl ring as the flap atom. In the crystal, the cations and anions are linked by N-H center dot center dot center dot Br hydrogen bonds, forming chains parallel to the b-axis direction. Hirshfeld surface analysis and two-dimensional fingerprint plots indicate that the most important contributions to the crystal packing are from H center dot center dot center dot H (46.4%), C center dot center dot center dot H/H center dot center dot center dot C (18.6%) and H center dot center dot center dot Br/Br center dot center dot center dot H (17.5%) interactions.
Michael additions to double bonds of esters of N-protected (s)-phenylalanyldehydroalanine (X-(s)-Phe-ΔAla-OMe) and its phosphonic acid counterpart (X…
2017
Electrophilic addition of amines, thiols and bromide to the double bonds of model dehydrodipeptides and dehydrophosphonodipeptide was studied. The double bond in these two classes of peptides reacted similarly and gave the same products. These results indicate that dehydropeptides are very good candidates as substrates for modifications of peptide side-chains.
ChemInform Abstract: The Allyl Ester as Carboxy-Protecting Group in the Stereoselective Construction of Neuraminic Acid Glycosides.
1989
The application of the allyl-ester moiety as protecting principle for the carboxy group of N-acetylneuraminic acid is described. Peracetylated allyl neuraminate 2 is synthesized by reacting the caesium salt of the acid 1 with allyl bromide. Treatment of 2 with HCl in AcCl or with HF/pyridine gives the corresponding 2-chloro or 2-fluoro derivatives 3 and 4, respectively (Scheme 1). In the presence of Ag2CO3, the 2-chloro carbohydrate 3 reacts with di-O-isopropylidene-protected galactose 5 to give the 2–6 linked disaccharide with the α-D-anomer 6a predominating (α-D/β-D = 6:1; Scheme 2). Upon activation of the 2-fluoro derivative 4 with BF3 · Et2O, the β-D-anomer 6b is formed preferentially (…
ChemInform Abstract: A Simple Procedure for the Oxidation of Alcohols Using [Bis(acetoxy)iodo]benzene and a Catalytic Amount of Bromide Ions in Ethyl…
2015
Primary and secondary benzylic alcohols and secondary aliphatic alcohols were oxidized to the corresponding aldehydes and ketones by using [bis(acetoxy)iodo]benzene (BAIB) and a catalytic amount of bromide ions, from tetrabutylammonium bromide or KBr, in ethyl acetate. The catalytic role of the bromide ions was also highlighted in the oxidation of primary aliphatic alcohols and secondary allylic alcohols carried out in the presence of 1 mol% TEMPO.
