Prescribing the behaviour of geodesics in negative curvature

Given a family of (almost) disjoint strictly convex subsets of a complete negatively curved Riemannian manifold M, such as balls, horoballs, tubular neighborhoods of totally geodesic submanifolds, etc, the aim of this paper is to construct geodesic rays or lines in M which have exactly once an exactly prescribed (big enough) penetration in one of them, and otherwise avoid (or do not enter too much in) them. Several applications are given, including a definite improvement of the unclouding problem of [PP1], the prescription of heights of geodesic lines in a finite volume such M, or of spiraling times around a closed geodesic in a closed such M. Tensorization of quasi-Hilbertian Sobolev spaces

The tensorization problem for Sobolev spaces asks for a characterization of how the Sobolev space on a product metric measure space $X\times Y$ can be determined from its factors. We show that two natural descriptions of the Sobolev space from the literature coincide, $W^{1,2}(X\times Y)=J^{1,2}(X,Y)$, thus settling the tensorization problem for Sobolev spaces in the case $p=2$, when $X$ and $Y$ are infinitesimally quasi-Hilbertian, i.e. the Sobolev space $W^{1,2}$ admits an equivalent renorming by a Dirichlet form. Failure of topological rigidity results for the measure contraction property

We give two examples of metric measure spaces satisfying the measure contraction property MCP(K,N) but having different topological dimensions at different regions of the space. The first one satisfies MCP(0,3) and contains a subset isometric to $\mathbb{R}$, but does not topologically split. The second space satisfies MCP(2,3) and has diameter $\pi$, which is the maximal possible diameter for a space satisfying MCP(N-1,N), but is not a topological spherical suspension. The latter example gives an answer to a question by Ohta.

Equivalent definitions of very strict $CD(K,N)$ -spaces

We show the equivalence of the definitions of very strict $CD(K,N)$ -condition defined, on one hand, using (only) the entropy functionals, and on the other, the full displacement convexity class $\mathcal{DC}_N$. In particular, we show that assuming the convexity inequalities for the critical exponent implies it for all the greater exponents. We also establish the existence of optimal transport maps in very strict $CD(K,N)$ -spaces with finite $N$.

Pestov identities and X-ray tomography on manifolds of low regularity

We prove that the geodesic X-ray transform is injective on scalar functions and (solenoidally) on one-forms on simple Riemannian manifolds $(M,g)$ with $g \in C^{1,1}$. In addition to a proof, we produce a redefinition of simplicity that is compatible with rough geometry. This $C^{1,1}$-regularity is optimal on the H\"older scale. The bulk of the article is devoted to setting up a calculus of differential and curvature operators on the unit sphere bundle atop this non-smooth structure.

The method of moving planes: a quantitative approach

We review classical results where the method of the moving planes has been used to prove symmetry properties for overdetermined PDE's boundary value problems (such as Serrin's overdetermined problem) and for rigidity problems in geometric analysis (like Alexandrov soap bubble Theorem), and we give an overview of some recent results related to quantitative studies of the method of moving planes, where quantitative approximate symmetry results are obtained.

Normal forms and embeddings for power-log transseries

First return maps in the neighborhood of hyperbolic polycycles have their asymptotic expansion as Dulac series, which are series with power-logarithm monomials. We extend the class of Dulac series to an algebra of power-logarithm transseries. Inside this new algebra, we provide formal normal forms of power-log transseries and a formal embedding theorem. The questions of classifications and of embeddings of germs into flows of vector fields are common problems in dynamical systems. Aside from that, our motivation for this work comes from fractal analysis of orbits of first return maps around hyperbolic polycycles. A short proof of the infinitesimal Hilbertianity of the weighted Euclidean space

We provide a quick proof of the following known result: the Sobolev space associated with the Euclidean space, endowed with the Euclidean distance and an arbitrary Radon measure, is Hilbert. Our new approach relies upon the properties of the Alberti-Marchese decomposability bundle. As a consequence of our arguments, we also prove that if the Sobolev norm is closable on compactly-supported smooth functions, then the reference measure is absolutely continuous with respect to the Lebesgue measure.

Urysohn's metrization theorem for higher cardinals

In this paper a generalization of Urysohn's metrization theorem is given for higher cardinals. Namely, it is shown that a topological space with a basis of cardinality at most $|\omega_\mu|$ or smaller is $\omega_\mu$-metrizable if and only if it is $\omega_\mu$-additive and regular, or, equivalently, $\omega_\mu$-additive, zero-dimensional, and T\textsubscript{0}. Furthermore, all such spaces are shown to be embeddable in a suitable generalization of Hilbert's cube.

Identification of an Immunogenic Medulloblastoma-Specific Fusion Involving EPC2 and GULP1

Medulloblastoma is the most common malignant brain tumor in children. Immunotherapy is yet to demonstrate dramatic results in medulloblastoma, one reason being the low rate of mutations creating new antigens in this entity. In tumors with low mutational burden, gene fusions may represent a source of tumor-specific neoantigens. Here, we reviewed the landscape of fusions in medulloblastoma and analyzed their predicted immunogenicity. Furthermore, we described a new in-frame fusion protein identified by RNA-Seq.
