Abstract Weight‐bearing physical activity may decrease or prevent bone deterioration after hip fracture. This study investigated the effects of a home‐based physical rehabilitation program on tibial bone traits in older hip fracture patients. A population‐based clinical sample of men and women operated for hip fracture (mean age 80 years, 78% women) was randomly assigned into an intervention (n = 40) and a standard care control group (n = 41) on average 10 weeks postfracture. Multicentric, multifocal, and recurrent osteoid osteoma of the hip: first case report.

Abstract Background Osteoid osteoma is a benign bone-forming tumour, which very unfrequently has multifocal or multicentric presentation. We report the first known case of a multicentric, multifocal and recurrent osteoid osteoma treated using radiofrequency ablation. Case presentation A 39-year-old man with two-year history of left hip pain was admitted at our Institution. The pain was more intense during the night and partially relieved by salicylates. Abstract Background Lumbar spine fusion (LSF) effectively decreases pain and disability in specific spinal disorders; however, the disability rate following surgery remains high. Here, we have investigated factors that control ADAM15 levels in cartilage. How Do Judgmental Overconfidence and Overoptimism Shape Innovative Activity?

Recent field evidence suggests a positive link between overconfidence and innovative activities. In this paper we argue that the connection between overconfidence and innovation is more complex than the previous literature suggests. In particular, we show theoretically and experimentally that different forms of overconfidence may have opposing effects on innovative activity. While overoptimism is positively associated with innovation, judgmental overconfidence is negatively linked to innovation.
